MSNBC
March 12 CBS was bombarded with complaints last week after Star Search judge Naomi Judd referred to a black dancer as a monkey. I was stunned, a source tells The Scoop. She said it in a way that was meant to be funny and playful, but it was astonishingly racist and insensitive.
I HEARD THAT the [CBS] switchboard really lit up, the source said.
Only moments later, after a trio of tap dancers, the un-PC singer announced that she loves it when white people tap dance. Totally bizarre comment, but yet another reason to make fun of Naomi, one poster on Television Without Pity.com commented. Youve got to admit, she unintentionally provides comic relief to the show. Every time its her turn to vote, I think, What stupid thing is she going to say now?
Its a real problem, said another Star Search fan who says that the country and western crooner once referred to a dance by three black women as tribal.
Spokesmen for Judd and CBS didnt return calls for comment.

" I apologize if I come off as too blunt, and I'm sure liberals would find some way of accusing me of being a bigot, when in fact it is just the opposite. But I felt I needed to say it. Mods, it's your call if my post is deemed inappropriate. I'm tired of walking on eggshells about this issue. You must be joking. Walking on eggshells? More like tippy-toeing around the eggshells.

I never understood this. On Fox and Friends they had a monkey once and joked it looked like one of the hosts. My friends and I used to joke about one or the other looking like a gorilla. I'm trying to understand this. Is it taboo to jokingly refer to blacks as monkeys because they resemble one slightly more than whites? If so isn't that double standard in itself racist and insulting? We're all descended from primates what the heck is the problem. It seems like in a color-blind world you should be able to joke that anyone looks like a monkey.

They instead resort to knee-jerk, animal comparisons that reveal their caveman-like complex. Ever see the movie "Drumline?" Just look at the way the black marching band performs. Look at how the black cheerleaders execute. Much, much more energy and livelier than what you'll see from a white marching band and cheerleaders. Hah, but of course you're not a racist caveman because you're only insulting whites. It's racist to imply blacks are inferior to whites in any way, but it's enlightened/diverse to point out the myriad ways that blacks are superior to whites.
Could I make a similar comment about how much more energy and insight white engineers and scientists have compared to black ones without being called racist?
You're a hypocrite.

At least the immature surburban whites with body piercings don't have to worry about somebody shooting up the place because "some punk-muthaf---er" disrespected him. Unless, of course, those immature whites (not necessarily suburban) lived in Littleton, CO (Columbine High), Paducah, KY, or Hattiesburg, MS.

That's a vunny thing in that CBS is reporting this. What about Dan "Blather" Rather when he said that his bosses at CBS got the "Buckwheats" in making him report about the Treasonous/Rapist, Impeached Ex-President Bill Clinton. Or how about when he said that blacks and hispanics are eating to much watermelon and to many tacos?
To: Illbay
So you have NEVER seen any of the current crop of "hip-hop" dance acts, and NOT thought "hm, tribal"...no, seizure.

I guess this all depends on your viewpoint. Blacks get upset about it because this was one of the excuses given in the past to legally consider as less than human. Kluxxers and other racists claim it is proof they are "less evolved" than whites. I think if I were black,I'd get upset about it,too. There is just too much "history" tied to it.
Having said that, you almost have to give celebs a pass on stuff like this. They are almost all airheads by definition, and don't really mean any harm.

Thanks, but I don't really need proof. Save yourself some time and effort. This isn't a court of law,and I'll take your word for it.
