You should have just had the admins rename her post and move it to breaking news. Her post also gives the insight that contrary to the media, Bush wasn't on the phone begging countries for support, but instead was expressing gratitude to countries who long ago got on board.

WASHINGTON -- President Bush is willing to abandon his demand for a United Nations vote on Iraq as the White House prepares an ultimatum that would presage the start of war.
The planned presidential address from the White House could come within hours of a collapse of deliberations at the United Nations, a senior administration official said Thursday. It would signal an ''end of diplomacy'' and warn journalists, U.N. weapons inspectors and international aid workers that it was time to leave Iraq.
Within days, Bush would follow with a ''start of bombing'' speech when the war begins, the official said in an interview.
In a stunning shift forced by international opposition, Secretary of State Colin Powell (news - web sites) said Thursday that the administration might abandon its effort to win Security Council support for a resolution that would give tacit international approval of an Iraq invasion. Bush had insisted that a vote should occur no later than today. The administration official said there would be a U.N. vote, or a decision not to have a vote, by early next week.
The consequences of the rift between the United States, Britain and Spain on one side and France, Germany, Russia and China on the other loomed increasingly large. It has repercussions beyond the Iraq crisis. Iraq's ''day of reckoning is fast approaching,'' Powell told members of Congress at a hearing. But as far as winning U.N. support, Powell said, ''the options remain to go for a vote (or) not go for a vote.''

I heard the summit is really a meeting for Bush, Blair and Aznar. Don't think any others are invited. It's suppose to take place at a neutral location. Maybe the three will make a join "unilateral" anouncement that we're going it "alone".

Andrea Mitchell-Greenspan was on the Imus show this AM, and I thought I heard her say that President Bush will address the nation on Monday.

Bush shifted his feverish diplomacy from pressing undecided council members to thanking leaders who have supported the U.S. policy.

It won't be that long.
Saint Patties could well have some real good news and be a historical day for those living in Iraq under the tyrant, Soddomite.

By Caroline Overington in New York and Marian Wilkinson in Washington
March 15 2003
The United States has threatened to withdraw from the increasingly chaotic debate at the United Nations, opening the way for President George Bush to declare war within days.

Administration officials sought to explain the president's shift as a courtesy to Blair, who faces intense political pressure not to send British troops into battle without U.N. support. Bush and Blair appeared to have concluded that going to war without a follow-up to last fall's U.N. demand that Iraq disarm would be better than doing so after losing a vote in the Security Council on a new resolution.
They have left for the weekend any number of times over the last month with the impression that the next week will be the week when everything hits the fan. Then on Monday they morph that into new diplomatic "necessities."
I'm not convinced any more until I hear the call for UN inspectors and journalists to get out.

U.S. wavers on U.N. Iraq war resolution
BARRY SCHWEID
Associated Press
WASHINGTON - Frustrated by a threatened French veto, the Bush administration has abandoned its demand for a quick U.N. vote on a resolution backing war against Iraq and raised the possibility that President Bush might travel overseas to consult with key allies.
As the president decided whether to drop his bid for a U.N. endorsement entirely, the White House began planning for a possible meeting this weekend between the president and his two staunchest allies on Iraq, British Prime Minister Tony Blair and Spanish Prime Minister Jose Maria Aznar.
Senior U.S. officials said the summit, which would be held in a neutral nation, would be a diplomatic strategy session on the eve of a U.N. showdown. Bush had given the go-ahead for the summit proposal but was awaiting word from his two partners and the host nation, the officials said on condition of anonymity Friday. A final decision was expected later in the day.
