It may just be the regular army that's deploying. He wants to get them out of the way so that their immediate and massive surrender in the desert is more of a problem for us than the moral within the Republican Guard of Baghdad.

I expect that our "In Theater" forces are ready for such an Iraqui move. When Saddam orders the first Scud launch or orders an Iraqui cannon cocker to pull the first lanyard, President Bush is off the hook, and Saddam really does become a Dead Man Walking.
