7:53pm EST
FoxNews Alert just reported that Iraqi troops have left Baghdad with heavy artillary and are heading south to the Kuwaiti boarder. More troops with SCUD missle launchers are heading west. The thought is that Saddam is about to attack our troops.
This is breaking news and details are few and far between.

Frankly I'm focusing on 250,000 US troops in the area.

    Are we really in Kuwait?

I am quite confident that no Scud missile launchers are leaving Baghdad. They wouldn't have been hidden there, and Saddam certainly isn't going to display them going down the road in front of reporters and our spy satellites.

I thought Blix said Iraq has no scuds. What a stupid Idiot That's the second time someone has said this on this thread. Does anyone have a source for this statement? Why would Blix say anything about SCUDS - they are not banned weapons, are they? They certainly travel less than the 95 mile limit...

Now O'Reilly is on. And of course he has to say "American children have to be protected by the federal government."
I guess he has given up on parents.

Obviously forces are moving but there has been no attack. But Sadaam is at least positioning to inflict losses on us. For all our bravado here, we don't want our forces taking artillery fire. And if its chemical or biological, even worse. It appears at the very least Sadaam realizes just defending Bagdhad won't work.

Damn! How frightning! Do you think he'll give our troops a chance to surrender? LOL!!!!If true, I don't see where this is a laughing matter.
Based on the previous Gulf War, a surprise first strike is Saddam's only real chance at inflicting heavy U.S. casualties.
Either way, he knows he's toast. He's just trying to give us a bloody nose before he goes down in a blaze of "glory".
I don't like this development one bit.

FOX isn't doing real news either tonight. More tabloid crap.

They certainly travel less than the 95 mile limit... Even the earliest versions of the Scud travelled further than that, which is why the limit on Iraqi rockets was set at that level.
