They certainly travel less than the 95 mile limit..

No. Try closer to 190 miles (300 km).

Not to worry!!!When it gets light in the morning,I'm sure "Blixie and the Boys" will be RIGHT there to make sure that the scuds are the "safe ones"....

.....(IF they don't have a "head-on collision" on the road getting there....)

...(sarcasm off thingee goes here)....

I don't know how long they can play these clips...but it is MUCH longer than I will watch it. The girl is back home...great! Now move onto some other less important stories, like THE DAMN WAR!

Oh how can they keep on this silly "war" nonsense when there are BIGGER stories out there, like Laci and Elizabeth!

Interesting. A limited pre-emption by the US to stave off the pre-emption by Iraq which is pre-emption to our pre-emption.

I don't think these scuds can really deliver NBC warheads very effectively based on the weight of the warhead in each missle. If hit by a patriot anti-missle they fall short and possibly don't work at all.
My concern is that the Iraqis will load them up as a dirty nuke. It won't matter if they are shot down or miss the target, damage is done and will spread in the summer winds.
The dirty nuke in a scud will work well against Kuwait or Isreal.

"Incidents" are usually used as a propaganda ploy to gain public support for an attack. Remember how WWII started? German troops, disguised in Polish uniforms, attacked a German army post near the border killing several German soldiers. This "incident" gave Hitler the pretext he thought he needed to launch the massive attack on Poland.

"U.S. officials fear that once President Bush signals the U.S. is headed to war, Saddam Hussein will
strike pre-emptively, administration sources told ABCNEWS. But if the United States takes action to stop an Iraqi first
strike, especially if they try to seize and protect the oil fields, U.S. officials admit they may end up starting the war itself."

But, if, could, would, maybe, especially, may....

I think we should pull everything and everybody out of the Mideast and watch the mainstream media's head just explode right off their shoulders.

Kinda obvious all the news outlets want to be first to "break" the invasion story. Kiss strategic and tactical surprise -GOODBYE- on this war.

Now would be a -great- time to sucker punch North Korea.

Surprise!

Dry heat my A$$!

Turn your oven on 400 degrees and wait until it heats up. As soon as it hits 400 degrees open the door and stick your face inside as fast as you can while the heat blasts past your face.

I actually had my contacts dry up and fall out of my eyes.

WAY HOT AND DRY and sometimes humid but ALWAYS windy.

Supposedly the SCUD-B's, the best SCUD Iraq is claimed to have had were destroyed.

The SS-21 should be SS-1B or SCUD-A, my bad.

Iraq Missiles

Ababil-100 Development 100-150 km/300 kg Domestic Production
Al Samoud Tested/Development 150 km/300 kg Domestic Production
Scud-B Destroyed 300 km/1,000 kg USSR
Al Hussein Destroyed 600-650 km/500 kg Domestic/USSR
Al Abbas Destroyed 900 km/300 kg Domestic/USSR

I have a photo of an identical thermometer by the front door of my home that shows -50 exactly. Maybe that will put this in perspective. 175 degrees difference.
