FoxNews Alert just reported that Iraqi troops have left Baghdad with heavy artillary and are heading south to the Kuwaiti boarder. More troops with SCUD missle launchers are heading west. The thought is that Saddam is about to attack our troops.
This is breaking news and details are few and far between.

If you were Saddam would you wait for us to blow up all his gear before he could use it?
To: Miss Marple
I bet Missiles, such as SCUDs, would be included in that - just a guess though.

South makes sense but going west is into
our occupied territory.
Franks has some difficult decisions.
Withdraw from western Iraq, remain concealed and wait or disrupt the Iraqi deployment in a manner that provides plausible denial.
To: knak
That's right - I remember Ari saying the President has no plans to travel.

I like Bill, but his solution to just about every problem is for the government to get involved.

NBC Nightly News was amazingly balanced tonight-as rare an occurrence as finding a patriotic Democrat, which is why I stuck around to watch a bit.Jim Miklaszewski said that Iraq is moving artillery pieces to the Kuwait border, for a possible anthrax launch on Kuwait City-which could be devastating for the civilians and US troops. The Iraqi scuds may contain sarin gas, bringing 3,000 possible deaths to Tel Aviv and 30,000 injured. The bizarreness of this NBC report is Jim blithely talking about Iraq's WMD today, while tomorrow, Andrea Mitchell will breathlessly report that Blix and his aide,Bill Clinton, have given Iraq a clean bill of health in the latest UN report.Miklaszewski said the US might have to take out the batteries soon.

FoxNews Alert just reported that Iraqi troops have left Baghdad with heavy artillary and are heading south This can't possibly be considered a preemptive strike. They are simply driving their equipment. I think that's allowed under the U.N. sanctions (not that that matters at all). If I were a dictator I would also strategically position my army if I knew I was going to get clobbered in 7 days. Again, not that it will matter...
