Why did this woman have sex with this guy?
I went through four years of college without ever even getting so much as one kiss or one date.
Every girl I asked out in college rejected me. And the reason was always the same: "You're a nice guy."
And then after she rejected me, she would date some jerk. And she would continue to date the jerk for a long time. And then she would complain about how he treated her.
Why do women reject the nice guys, date the jerks, and then complain about how the jerks treat them?
Why did the woman in this article have sex with this guy?
Why are so many nice guys unable to get even so much as a kiss?

They take freedom for granted.

Been there, done that.
Tried throughout high school, tried in college. Tried the bar scene and internet personals.
Now I'm in a very happy long distance relationship.

Why do women reject the nice guys, date the jerks, and then complain about how the jerks treat them? Because women are pretty much idiots. You've seen them drive, right?
As for this individual woman...her situation kind of sucks, but in a way, she is partly to blame as well. A lot of college guys like to kiss and tell and this guy simply did exactly that. Her lack of judgement helped contribute to this situation.

Men hunt for women. Women shop for men.

"You violated me in ways I don't think you'll ever understand," she said. She was afraid to even be on campus the past five months because she didn't know who had seen the tape, she said."My freshman year of college has been a relentless nightmare," she said.
"Waaaaaaaaah!" Somebody call the Waaaaaambulance...

I imagine that the clothes you were wearing didn't match her wardrobe when you asked her out and being a college kid you could not afford to buy her a new wardrobe so she said no.

He should have claimed he was driven to do it by exposure to all of those X10 Camera pop-up ads.

Rent the movie Swingers, Vince Vaughn gives a lot of useful advice.
"I don't want you to be the guy in the PG-13 movie everyone's really hoping makes it happen, I want you to be like the guy in the R-rated movie, y'know? The guy you're not sure whether or not you like yet. You're not sure where he's coming from, OK? You're a bad man..."

My husband is a nice guy. I am the only woman he ever dated. That is precious to me.

There are very few "nice" women out there these days, and I mean "nice" in the way that they are not scheeming to get something from you, but just pleasant in general. I get advice from all these "older" people that are no longer in thier 20's that give me ridiculous advice, and I just tell them "that might have worked 20 years ago, but it wont now". If you hold a door open for a woman now there is probably a good 50% chance she will slam it in your face much less thank you.

I went through four years of college without ever even getting so much as one kiss or one date. Brother...with all due respedct...I don't think being a nice guy was the whole problem.
I was a pretty nice guy, and I didn't run into that. Granted, I'm talking about the early 80s, so maybe things have changed.
The guy in question was a pig. You are not a pig. However, I've had other friends who lacked...the predatory instinct. Guys who had lots of girlfriends, but never had girlfriends. Sometimes girls expect you to take that little extra step, and predate. Just a bit.
better to have loved and lost, than to have done some ugly hateful thing like that jerk did.

If being a nice guy doesn't work, don't be a nice guy. Be an A**hole if that's what they want... and they mostly do regardless what a few here will say.
