One more out of work RAT. Maybe next time, Tamara will keep her traitorous thoughts to herself.

If she got the email in her company mailbox and made it clear that her views were her own, she shouldn't have been fired. This cuts both ways people. Liberals try to get conservatives fired, too. Remember that some filters classify Free Republic as a hate site. That's why I use a pseudonym here and no other place on the 'net.

Tamara will keep her traitorous thoughts to herself.

So anyone who opposes the war is now a "traitor"?

Some fools are unwilling to accept that.

It's a private company. They should be able to fire her for her pro-war views, her anti-war views, or because her mother dresses her funny.

A lot of email programs have automatic signatures. It is easy enough to send out an email from your company address with your company name on it without thinking twice. Yes, I know it is stupid but I'd rather cut people a break and give them an opportunity to appoligize or try to make amends than to simply fire them.

I agree with your statement as it stands - but I think the right thing was done because "Webster says Saviano put her company name on her e-mail"

I agree with the both of you. I find it sad that while we are "FREE" Republic, so many of us are no better than the Lefties when it comes to extending freedoms to those who hold views opposed to our own.

I have heard from a few people with anti-war beliefs that I thought raised some good points. I understand and respect their opinions, even though I don't agree.

The majority of "anti-war" folks are obviously, in truth, "anti-American," however, but they are quite transparent about it and I trust that thinking men and women see through them just as we do. I'd sooner have them out marching and making fools of themselves where we can know and identify them, than hiding in the shadows doing harm to our nation in some clandestine fashion.

It bothers me not at all when someone says they're "anti-war." Big deal. They're wrong, but it doesn't hurt me one bit to hear them prove it.

First of all, I don't believe Charlie Daniels responded to her directly.

Secondly, if folks read at his site that was mentioned, you can tell he's obviously anti-hollywood BS.

Me, gotta love him! I saw him first at a high school basketball half-time performance in Eau Claire, WI, many years ago - and that was after I already loved his music.

Charlie Daniels rocks, big time! Not just musically. He sounds off against the Hollyweirdos. More power to him! JLO

it was a business decision. if you want to be an outspoken anti-war activist, great american country ain't the place. country music prides itself on flag waving and patriotism. if the anti-war folks compared saddam to hitler rather than bush, they would seem more patriotic (and rational).

I don't think Free Republic people would voice opinions from their companies work terminals. We all know better than that. Right?

Maybe she had bad gas that week.

I don't think she should have been fired. Maybe she used lots of 4-letter words....

I wonder, is this a stealth way to try and slam Charlie for his great letter to the hollyweirds? The woman's firing is in no way Charlie's fault. He did the right thing, the patriotic thing. He didn't call someone to have her fired (too clintonesque, and Charlie would never sink to the sinkEmperor's cesspool level). Is someone trying to attach guilt by association, onto Charlie Daniels? If so, I am really gonna get riled!

A friend who works for a well-known insurance company had no problem getting to web sites such as Greenpeace during his lunch break but has found most right-wing and libertarian sites blocked. Even National Review. At times, he was even trying to do serious research for work-related issues.

Unless she is a loud and roudy protester type she should be intitled to her own thoughts on the matter.
Every one is intitled.

Sucks to be her.

Now that she's no longer on company time she can spout off about her anit-war feelings and how much she hates America, till the cows come home.
