"When it is time for war we are fully prepared to fight into the ground. If we don't fight hard, they will execute us," he said.

Damned if they do, damned if they don't. It's a bitch to be an Iraqi.

For a country that isn't supposed to have chemical or biological weapons, they're making darn well sure they have enough to hit us with.

And oh, BTW, who built Saddam Hussein's chemical weapons facilitites and trained his technicians?

That's right: the Zyklon-B crew, the Germans.

"In the last stage, he will use it as a last resort."

Yeah, but Saddam's gotta be alive during the last stage if he wants his last resort option to play out.

**An Iraqi defector has told Sky News that Saddam Hussein will use chemical weapons if the country is invaded.**

But, but, but, but, but, but, but, Saddam say he has no chemical weapons -- that they have all been destroyed.

Oh, rats! Caught telling a lie, again, eh, Saddam? </sarcasm off

This Iraqi defector sounds like he really believes the superior prowess of his nations military. Little does this young buck know, or realize, what lies he's been spoon fed and what their military is up against. He knows enough to defect though.

How could Hollywierd be wrong? How can he use what he doesn't have? Martin Sheen needs to have a cabinet shake-up.

One of the reasons (IMO) this war isn't over now is we have spec-ops guys running around looking for and targeting sadams Bio-Chem sites.

Also we should realise that these weapons really are not that effective against soldiers.

"We have been fully provided with complete protection gear, gas masks, first aid kit, injections."

I bet it's hard to keep your gas mask on when a Daisy Cutter goes off nearby. 8-O

It's difficult to deploy anything when the deployer and that which would be deployed both are in a gaseous state of matter....

All the hollywood and other marxist and leftist scum protesting this war should be dragged in shackles to the battle sites when we have uncovered the evidence we knew all along was there. They should then be made to confront the evidence, admit they are scum, and left there to find their own way back home. Then when they show up bedraggled at our borders we refuse to let them back in.

Saddam could save the US a lot of trouble by just lobbing a chem/bio missile into Televiv.

The Israel response would make Baghdad uninhabitable for 10,000 years.

In an exclusive interview, the man said the use of such weapons against British and US soldiers was "100% guaranteed".

We already knew that.

Hmmmm? What if this is just a ruse to try to keep us from attacking.

Remember one thing - these people watched the x42 admin in operation for 8 years - everytime there was TROUBLE, we ran away. Could Saddam be thinking we would do the same thing - if he could use a threat of death by chemical weapons.

This is just tooooooo convenient for me - and a member of Saddam's Republican Guard - puhleeeeeeze!!

I don't doubt Iraq has the chemicals - it's the delivery systems that are sorely lacking.

I haven't read all the comments, so if my hypothesis has already been made, I apologize.

Is it possible that this military officer was "allowed" to defect and provide the info he did in order to stimulate even more anti-war sentiment and anti-Bush action around the world?

Having been in our military, I question how disguising the officer for the interview to protect his family in Iraq would make any sense. Unless accountability is much more relaxed in the Iraqi military, it should be relatively easy to identify an officer who is absent from his assigned duty position.

I know it sounds a little like a tinfoil hat comment, but the entire situation has a strange odor about it.
