Dell Dude participating in anti-war protests

If you want to listen to anti-war protesters - who despite their hijacking of that once noble label actually help exacerbate that which they claim to oppose - you can do so in the audio link below.

(go to Rushlimbuagh.com for more)

Dude, You're Enabling One of the Worst Dictators in History! (The proof: Rush's Stack of Saddam Stuff)

I'll tell you, my patience with these appeasers and enablers of evil is wearing thin. I don't suffer fools gladly even in the best of times. I'll make an exception, though, for the yutes of America - that's the only time you have an excuse to be stupid. Case in point is Ben Curtis. You may know him from his portrayal of an idiot in the Dell computer commercials and his catch phrase, "Dude, you're getting a Dell!" or from his recent pot arrest.

If he were my kid, he'd get a one-way ticket to Baghdad. Saddam's response to this kind of dissent would be, "Dude, you're getting your tongue nailed to a board!" Of course I'm not saying we should have that here, but it's a point that needs to be made to these students who act like we're the evil ones. This is the height of idiocy.

One protester complained that we were spending money on "a bomb we'll use once" and "cutting education." We're not cutting anything! And if we were, Ted Kennedy would be to blame because he wrote the education bill at President Bush's behest. The Dell dude - who's desperate to be taken seriously after building this image as an idiot - spouted clichés such as "killing doesn't end killing." A valley girl quipped, "The money could be better spent on better education, health care, child care, training or jobs or anything." This isn't money spent on war, you idiots. This is money spent for peace and freedom.

If you mean "Libertarian," I do fall somewhere between Republican and Libertarian. If you mean "liberal," I question your logic that anyone who isn't religious must be a liberal.

One does not have to be a belleving Jew or Christian to be culturally Judeo-Christian and conservative.

True enough. As the saying goes, atheism and fundamentalism are the two sides of the metaphysical coin.

Did you come by your beliefs through philosophical studies? If so, what is your reaction to Pascal's Wager?

Just curious (and since this is more interesting than discussing Steve the former Dell pitch-mope)... :-)

I think Pascal's Wager is a false choice. What do you have to lose? The freedom to think! The ownership of your mind! An entire life lived in accordance with logic, no censor sitting in the back of your brain saying "if you doubt, you will be punished, if you question certain givens, you will be punished." You have EVERYTHING to lose. You have your awareness, you risk being turned into your own secret police.... oh, geez, I could go on and on. But right now I'm going jogging. Back later!
