Latin: "with catapults having been outlawed then only outlaws will have catapults"
I'd forgotten about this article. Thanks for bumping it, whoever bumped it.
Too bad it's not more widely known.
reminds me of FR of only 12 months ago...
actually, I'm bookmarking it this time.
maybe hotlink it on my ever-expanding monstrosity of a Profile page.
yeeeeeeeeahhhh, I hotlinked it in my "Molon Labe" section
Perhaps. It's increasingly rare.
I've got to check your profile page; I never did. It's probably very interesting.
I hope you're all recuperated now.
(I usually don't check profile pages because I have wretchedly slow dialup and everything takes forever. Way out in the boonies. Just checked - it's a whopping 28k pbs right now.)
turns out my heart took a little damage from the illness.
it'll be a while, but I expect to make a full recovery.
that's a... charitable way to put it, sad to say.
bttt
LBJ used a lot of celebrities to promote the 68 GCA back when.....any guesses as to who one of em was ?
I think his current one is the best tagline there is.
Different from heston?
Ronald Reagan?

"I'm reminded of the foolishly naive Johnson White House-drafted statement read and subscribed to on the Joey Bishop television show by a string of Hollywood actors including Hugh O'Brien, Kirk Douglas, James Stewart and Charlton Heston."

O.K.
I was only 7 that year so politics was not a high priority on my daily to do list.
What made Heston swap sides?
I was chasing squirrels myself so didn;t watch the Joey Bishop show....Moses claims he was never a part of such ....thus just some of the links that suggest it was infighting during elections at the NRA Executive Level....
Interesting stuff....real or not an insite to internal bickering.
I was 13 that year, and P.O.ed about GCA, as I'd finally gotten a little money together so I could order my own gun out of the back of American Rifleman, and then they blocked it for me. I was going to get a Webley .45 revolver...seems to me it was about $5.
I'd had stepfather trouble the year before, and wasn't about to let it happen again.
BTTT.
