Powell did not know about the drone discovery when he addressed UN SC
MSNBC | 3/8/03 | self

Posted on 03/08/2003 3:56:36 PM PST by snooker

MSNBC just had a short clip about the Iraqi drone that the London Times wrote about. It seems that...

the copy of the classified UN document that Powell was reading from when he gave his SC talk did not include the pages referring to the chemical spraying drone that the UN had recently discovered.

Blix said the copy Powell had was only a draft.

Yeah right. Both the draft and Blix's speech overlooked one of the most significant discoveries by the inspectors. Iraq has an previously unknow program to develop chemical srpaying drones.

As far as I am concerned Blix should quit now. He stacked the deck at a critical time.

You just have to hope and pray that our troops don't run into a chemical weapons cloud.

This isn't going to be easy, unless the Iraqis turn on him.

"moving the UN to its natural home--France."

We've got to demand this... we've got to make our voices heard on this...send the UN to the land of stinky cheese!(anyone got a billboard handy?)

for those that have not seen my posts

former inspector claims to have given UN information on underground uranium plant in iraq about 6 weeks ago and claims they have done nothing with it

he is pretty outraged and called Baradi a fraud and Blix a fool

That's easy.

We can't stop them all, or eliminate them all.

But we can let them know that if they attack us, or even threaten us, they will pay a fearful price.

Gangsters understand only one thing...power.

Once they know that the gang up the street is alot more powerful than they are, they will settle down very quickly.

In fact, that is already occuring around the world, and in the Middle East. Every day our enemies are more cowed, simply because this President has shown he isn't afraid to take them on.

Just a more efficient crop sprayer. Works great in more congested areas. Nothing here, move on.

Agreed.

There are many risks involved in taking out Saddam Hussein, but life is not without risk.

Blix can be held accountable for every single American life that is lost in Iraq.

Blix hasn't ordered, nor will he order, a single American into battle. That is on George Bush. UN approval helps this administration dodge responsibility and avoid later war crimes accusations especially when you are the aggressor.

Blix lied...misrepresented?

One would almost think there's a Kofi Annan/Weasel/Blix axis, wouldn't one?

First of all, the innercity gangs can be stopped easily but there's $$$cha-ching$$$ vested interests that need to be brought down a notch or two before it's done...and that's small potatoes right now. Tell your friend when he's grown up he can join in. Right now he obviously doesn't understand the size and range of the US military nor does he understand the threat we as a nation are under. Why don't you let him watch Patton tonight.

Just watched Burt Lancaster in From Here to Eternity on TCM. It's followed by Robert Mitchem in The Story of GI Joe and Van Johnson in Battleground.

It's a good night for war movies.
