Atlanta Motor Speedway
Since being purchased by Bruton Smith in 1990, Atlanta Motor Speedway has become an ultra-modern, multi-purpose venue that has raised the bar of excellence. Amenities include a nine-story office/condominium complex, improved parking, over 53,000 additional permanent seats, a road course, a four-color electronic message center, a new ticket office and gift shop.
God Bless Our Troops and Our Nation.

let vegas have two races
instead of just one
As usual I am rooting for Kurt Busch
and Michael Waltrip
The year before last my son and I walked up to Michael's merchandise trailor. Half of it was roped off and there was a huge line waiting for Michael to show up and sign stuff. I had just told my son it was real hard to get autographs so do not be disappointed if we dont get any. (I had no idea NASCAR drivers were not like other sports "stars")
Anyway we walked right up to the front and were looking at stuff when Michael walked out and a roar went up from the crowd. My sons eyes lit up and he yelled to. The lady selling stuff said to us anything you buy I will slip it to Michael and he will sign it. So I bought my son a car and a hat for me since 15 is my lucky # and I knew that Michael was a outspoken christian.
Sure enough she slipped it to him and he signed, then we got Kurts autograph.
NASCAR is family values and to hear Michael say God bless the President and our troops was something else.

excerpted from article mentioned above
Stock car racing in Hollywod? Don't bet against it. The simple fact is, NASCAR is a flag-wavin' (sometimes Confederate), fender-rubbin, death-defyin' phenomenon. And it's not just for Bubba anymore.
"We used to get the guy who worked in the plant," says Wheeler, who goes all the way back to the days of Edward "Fireball" Roberts. "Now we're getting the guy who runs the plant and the guy who owns it."
There's more: Pop diva Britney Spears is hammering out the details for her part in a NASCAR movie. NASCAR driving champ Jeff Gordon hosted "Saturday Night Live." And former Super Bowl quarterbacks Troy Aikman and Roger Staubach have announced plans to form their own racing team.
Any more influential personalities, perhaps? Certainly. Tom Ridge, director of Homeland Security, was spotted at a race last year. President George Bush made tempestuous 2002 driving champion Tony Stewart the first Winston Cup winner to be invited to the White House, citing the "prized voter profile." Speaking of voters, the brain trust for presidential hopeful John Edwards of North Carolina insists it is going to tap into "NASCAR Democrats."
"Yeah, well," drawls Waltrip, "They may want to rethink that one. I believe he'll find that most NASCAR people are Republicans."

In the #15 Napa Auto Parts, your Winston Cup points leader, Michael Waltrip.

Might as well cut there too. Racing's never been the same since they cut North Wilkesboro. Watched a race from '83 back at Rockingham last night. Talk about when racing was racing!! I think the race ended with either 3 or 4 cars on the lead lap and Yarborough was running the race without a tail end

#9 A local kid too! ... Man, does that new track configuration suck? It sounds like oldtimers just can't win there since they moved the lines around.
To: NormsRevenge
Huge cheer when Bush's name mentioned during the opening prayer.
