I thought he came across extremely well -- very confident of what the outcome will be. I especially thought his comment about how the U.S. became a "battlefield" after September 11 was especially powerful. I also did. But I understand the stakes. I think the "battlefield" went over most heads, they don't want to understand, they are afraid.

By the way, what does "Checked Pants Crowd" mean? Was Michael Savage a liberal at one point -- he doesn't seem to want to answer that question. Savage is a pessimist and I have no time for pessimism. I am planning to watch his show today and I doubt I will change my mind about him -- in fact, I will bet that he proves to be the JERK that he is.

When, like Michael Savage, you can see through a lifetime of lies, propaganda, and mindless razzle dazzle, and, using your own common sense to examine the facts, you come to realize you're wasting your time trying to talk with mindless dolts who base everything they think on the drivel they've been fed, and you tend to become a loud mouth CLASSLESS, into yourself, nasty, angry JERK!
Michael Savage is the only man on the air in America that gets it.

He's not against the war. He said that Bush has waited too long and hasn't made the case well enough. He also said on his radio show that he plans to help Bush make the case by exposing Saddam on his TV show. He is not anti-war.
I plan to watch the first show, anyway. I caught a snippet (all I can hear on the scratchy overnight broadcast here; usually all I care for) where he said he was going to show pictures of Saddam's horrors that will shake this country up. I am curious to see if pMSNBC will allow this.

YEAH, HE IS GREAT ISNT HE!!!! I like Savage and sometimes I wonder why. His style is so, let's say, ungenteel. I've decided it's the times: Savage gives voice to the rage felt by Americans truly angry about September 11 and what we and future generations have had taken from us by leftists and cultural anarchists.
Like Perot's popularity captured a mood of frustration at his peak, Savage is the right man for the times. Three years ago he'd not have been popular and I expect his moment in the sun to fade once there's justice served for the September 11 attacks and people believe America is back on a strong moral footing.

A member of the "Checked Pants Crowd" is a country club or other milk-toast Republican or independent that has made compromise after compromise weakening our nation and society, but feels proud thinking at least he or she hasn't been wringing hands as all slips away.
A member of the Check Pants Crowd will:
-Make ridiculous apologetic remarks after being called a racist (without substantiaton) like Trent Lott.
-Won't call Clinton a traitor despite loss of national secrets and treasure.
-Not resign but rather allow himself, like Gingrich, to have his tongue held because of threats his own adultery might be revealed.
-Like the California Republican leadership, push and promote the weakest, most Democrat like candidates.
The best example is the litttle story told by David Horowitz. Two Republicans are tied to posts next to each other and prepared as victims for a firing squad. The first loudly objects to the application of a blindfold. The second says, "Shhhh! We don't want to cause trouble!"
There you have Savage's definition of "Checked Pants Crowd."

Hmmm....I'm glad to hear different opinions from freepers. So I'll tune in to see for myself what the heck this guy is all about! Thanks! :)
To: Kewlhand`tek
As my husband says "he is a liberal who got mugged". It was okay to be a liberal when it didn't hurt him! I believe he is Jewish but changed his name because he thought his being Jewish would work against him. By my definition he is a coward. He not only does not give credit to conservative talk show hosts who paved the way for him -- he prefers to insult them. Again, a CLASSLESS JERK!

I detect a certain bitterness...
All I got to say is that anybody that can illicit this type of animosity has got to have some good qualities.
For in this world crowded with different viewpoints, no progress was ever made without stepping on some of the sacred cows in the way.
To: dersepp
I despise Trent Lott. I've called Bill Clinton a murderer. I was and still am furious with Newt Gingrich. I am on the phone to Congress almost every day giving the so called Republicans grief when needed. So I guess I don't belong to that crowd and I still say Savage is a CLASSLESS JERK! And, I've read everything David Horowitz has written.

I'll tune in to see for myself what the heck this guy is all aboutI can't imagine how Savage's on-air radio persona will transfer to television. I'm skeptical but hoping he finds something that works. He has a lot to say that needs hearing.

...Oooooh. And you're an antisemite as well. Only took three posts to find out. He decided to take a pen-name (radio-name) to distinguish this from his writing career. He often proudly refers to his son Russ Weiner, not Russ Savage.
