Just heard on Fox News that Bruce Willis' "Tears of the Sun" does not have any distributors overseas because the movie is "too American".
We should send the message to Europe and the Hollywood Left what kind of movies we'll pay to see!!
Bruce plays a Navy Seal out to rescue an American citizen. Go Bruce, Go America, Hurray for a Hollywood Hero!!
Who else is in?

My wife and I went to see it last night. Great movie!

I have boycotted Hollywierd and have not seen a movie since right after 9/11. But I will make an effort to go see Bruce Willis' film though. He deserves to be number one at the box office! He is the only Hollywierd star who offered to fight for his country. I have alot of respect for that man!

I agree, support Bruce Willis...the only thing that makes a statement in Hollyweird is $$.

Yours is a good idea, but this should be the exception. Areafiftyone is right: don't subsidize those unpatriotic individuals in Hollywood by seeing their movies. Even seeing the Bruce Willis movie helps them (the director, for example).

Good intentions, but here's what's going to happen this weekend at the movies: BRINGING DOWN THE HOUSE, with Steve Martin and Queen Latifah will TRIPLE the box office of TEARS OF THE SUN, at least. It will likely even QUADRUPLE it. Reality: People want to laugh right now.

Whats sad is, is that every single review I read for the movie, rips the movie apart, and even worse, not on the movies merits, but on politics alone.

every single review I read for the movie, rips the movie apart, and even worse, not on the movies merits, but on politics alone. That's an even BETTER reason to go see it, to p*ss off the reviewers!!!

Saw it yesterday. The left won't like it because it shows the U.S. military in a good light. It also shows what a cesspool Africa is.

There is a line in the movie where Willis' character replies to a priest who is wishing them well, "God left Africa a long time ago".
...
I read in another post that Willis sees this movie more as a drama than an action movie. With that in mind, it would seem the studio is doing the film an injustice by lining it up against the likes of Black Hawk Down and Die Hard.

See the Pianist also..every American should especially in these times.

It's true that the Holocaust should be remembered so it is not repeated. However, I cannot in good conscience put one thin dime into the pocket of an unrepentant child rapist (Polanski). I don't care how good the movie is.

You have the right to your opinion but the story is:
The night before the sentencing, the judge was in the locker room of an exclusive club and was stating how he was
going tp put Polanski away for a long time. A
director privy to the conversation called his son who knew Polanksi..and he fled. The girl later dropped the charges. However, am not siding with Polanski but if you enjoy a great independent film over some mass produced "cheeky" film produced only for giggling high school and college students ..you won't be disappointed when seeing The Pianist.
However I felt the same way but this is not just an ordinary film..Polanski was a child during the Nazi occupation of Poland. This is one excellent film. One might forget it is Poland and see it as Iraq.

you might check the other site for a review from a Freeper in regard to children..depending on the age.

My son is about to turn 15 in few weeks. He watched Pearl Harbor and Black Hawk Down. I'm sure he'll be ok with this movie.

"My son is about to turn 15 in few weeks. He watched Pearl Harbor and Black Hawk Down. I'm sure he'll be ok with this movie. " Word of caution, Green, this movie has graphic (perhaps a stronger word applies) scenes depicting rape and mutilation.
To: Thud
This movie must look to much like "Americans in Srbrenicia" for European tastes.
