Got an email from our almost 25 year old son....not in the services, and couldn't be if he wanted because of a chronic health condition, but he wrote movingly of how much he appreciated those who do serve.

Do NOT love those who doubt his love for this great country and his resolve to keep it safe. (Why act now indeed? Why should we do what we said we were gonna do - what Congress, the UN agreed we should do a few months ago? Why not give him even MORE time - let's just wait until Saddam unleashes his weapons on America...he 'might' be an immediate threat then.)

I found some nice blue star quilts on the website. A good example is here.

I didn't find any "gold star" quilts, which I think unusual. Given the history of American quilting, where "mourning quilts" for a lost child are common. But I found patterns for many blue star quilts on the web.
