In a rare event, President Bush held a prime time press conference where he not only took several questions from the media about Iraq and North Korea, but also spoke about the recent arrest of Khalid Sheik Mohammed. The President reiterated several times that it was his job as President and Commander-in-Chief to protect the American people. Since the UN resolution 1441 clearly states that Saddam Hussein must disarm, and the UN doesn't seem to want to enforce the same resolution they unanimously approved, Bush said that the US and a coalition of other countries will disarm Hussein. Earlier in the day, The President also spoke briefly to a small audience about healthcare. Bush also the National Medal of Arts Recipients ceremony at the White House. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

YES....it is sooooo good to have an intelligent, focused, real man as our President. A man who is humble and takes seriously his responsibilities as President of the American people.....and head of the only super-power in the world right now. Prayers for our President!

"My faith sustains me because I pray daily. I pray for guidance and wisdom and strength. If we were to commit our troops -- if we were to commit our troops -- I would pray for their safety, and I would pray for the safety of innocent Iraqi lives, as well. One thing that's really great about our country, April, is there are thousands of people who pray for me that I'll never see and be able to thank. But it's a humbling experience to think that people I will never have met have lifted me and my family up in prayer. And for that I'm grateful. That's -- it's been -- it's been a comforting feeling to know that is true. I pray for peace, April. I pray for peace."
If this isn't a man in touch with America! Nobody is!!!!!!!
When President Bush said these words, he was talking to all of us who pray for him. I would give a lot to be able to tell him in person that by his actions and his words he has said "Thank You for parying for me" over and over, and yes Mr. President we hear you
God Bless America,Our President and our brave men and women in uniform

I was praying for him before and during the press conference. I lost it when he mentioned all those who were lifting him up in prayer ..... people he would never even meet.
And I couldn't believe that a member of the media actually asked the question that opened the door for him to talk about his faith and the importance of prayer. Praise God!!!

I loved hearing our W say he knows there are "thousands" of us lifting him and his family up in prayer. Helloooooo???I second that. IMHO, President Bush is a man who has mastered the understatement.

I swore to protect and defend the Constitution; that's what I swore to do. I put my hand on the Bible and took that oath, and that's exactly what I am going to do.** I will never forget his demeanor when he was sworn in. He kept chopping his hand for emphasis. When he took that oath, he meant every word with his heart and his soul.
Trivia point. After the swearing in, my former Congressman Brian Kerns (who was gerrymandered out of a job) ran up and pulled up the tape that marked where Dubya stood when he was sworn in. He kept it for a souvenir.

OWF, I've had very little computer time lately. Tell me about Eric. Where is he, what's he doing, etc.?
Formal one time announcement: As of today I am single again. Bought a new house on Tuesday and will move next month. Life will go on. The downside is I'm moving closer into Waco and farther from W's ranch, drat!
