There have been a lot of complaints from Freepers about the questions asked the President this evening. I have a whole different feeling about this. These are all things the American public wants to know and the libs want to attack him for. The questions gave our President a chance to answer them. It was to Bush's advantage to get the answers out there to the public. And he did a damn fine job of it.

I was thinking the same thing ... was watching fox news and listening to Britt Hume ... then it hit me.
Bush's speech was not meant for the media or the well informed. Bush's speech and press conference was for the American public's education and elucidation of the current world situtation.

Isn't it nice to have a president who does not need to hide from public questions. The style may not have had finese but it was nice not to have scandal questions.
did anyone notice how the media tried to generate the protesters into a paper tiger?

It's the job of the reporters to ask these questions. And a few of the reporters had an axe to grind, but it's still important for the President to come out and answer the questions that the reporters have, and a lot of the American people have.
