" Kennedy "waited" 9 hours to report that a woman was under water in his car"

Let's not forget,he got a good nights sleep in the local motel, after his channel crossing swim( a feat worthy of an Olympic swimmer),probably had breakfast before scratching his head, trying to remember where he put his "To Do" list. #10 on the list was call EMT and Fire Dept to attempt rescue of woman trapped in the back of his car-# 1 was to call the family lawyer # 2 was to get a good nights sleep #3 have a balanced breakfast ,etc, etc.

Maybe that is what the President meant about it's time for voting yes or no and having the cards put out on the table for all to see??

So you think it's "dumb" to be skeptical about preemptive war against a country that, however bad, hasn't attacked us?

post-9/11, yes. imagine if we had launched a strike on al qaeda on 9/10. or shot down those planes the morning of 9/11 based on cell phone calls and intelligence information. some of us would have understood.

and some of us would be you.

You may be tired of W saying the same things over and over again. You must remember that most of our population doesn't have a clue. If they watch tonight it will be their first time of paying attention.

Point taken.

However, I believe the UN Security Council members already knew the President was going to make them vote and, "put their cards on the table". He simply let the world know what the irrelevant UN politico's already knew.

I do wonder. I think Bush knows some really really bad scary stuff. And I think the roundup will precede the war.

Howdy

I am outraged at the disgusting antics of the disrespectful, vaingloriously self important, yammering lillipution reporters
who asked no questions whatsoever of any practical utility to the American People, serving instead their diseased,
obsolete political agenda to the total exclusion of their responsibility as the Fourth Estate.

Every question was a loaded hit piece of rhetorical lip service to the putrid corpse of American leftism, not a single
reporter troubled theirself to ask pertinent questions that might give comfort and solace to the families of a quarter million
servicepeople awaiting the call to battle.

I AM OUTRAGED!

Where do we go? What do we do? How do we ACT to deprive these barbarians of their voice, when they offer America,
on the eve of war, NOTHING of any value, but rather, pointless diatribes malformed into "questions" which serve only
their pathetic agenda?

What to DO?

"I had a fascinating conversation today with someone I know whose roots are in the Middle East. Word on the street there is that Iraq has been behind every terrorist attack against the U.S. going back to the first WTC bombing in 1993."

I, for one, can't help but totally agree with what you wrote above, but even more with what you wrote in #1322, following the above!!!

The "Islamic fundamentalist" angle to all of these attacks has been nothing more than a front. But the U.S. must continually allow it to be used, because it helps cover the utter incompetence and malfeasance on the part of the U.S. government over the last ten years.

AMEN!!!
And... AMEN!!!

I have spoken to my own ROTC students and heard from several military people, and the "weather" thing is overblown. Remember how supposedly we "couldn't fight" in Afghanistan's mountains. BS. I heard one U.S. military official (maybe Rumsfeld or Franks) say that the timing of the operations would not be driven by weather or "phases of the moon."

That said, I have no idea. I do know you can't leave 250,000 soldiers, with lots of reservists, on station indefinitely. So it has to be soon.

Even 60 minutes pointed out on Sunday that Iraq has been smuggling out many illeagal tanker truck loads of oil through Turkey and Syria.

Frankly, it isn't the illegal oil exports that worry me...

Churchillbuff is making far more sense than the "let me go make some popcorn while we nuke the towelheads" crowd.

Got duct tape?

Dude,

What is your point? That some illegals would rather be in America than Mexico? That some like America? so freakin what.

By this logic, you wouldn't mind if someone broke into your house as long as they liked you.

That said, I harbor much more malice for the mexican government and its dangerous agenda than individuals. I'm not too happy with our government in this regard either. Go ahead and join lulac and maldef and mecha in illegal immigrant advocacy and I'll keep making noise in opposition. FReegards

I'm guessing Blix is busy editing the report he's due to give tomorrow.

Yes. Britain's Shaw is twisting that arm pretty hard, along with Powell. Bush's heavy "inevitability" gives it a bigger push. So, unless Blix wants his report to be the basis under which the U.N. becomes utterly powerless in world affairs, he has to make it tough enough to Britain and the U.S. adequate pretext. Then he has to let the rest of the SC be political and destroy the U.N. if that's what they want.

Blix isn't just a fact-finder. It's a sensitive political job where absolute truth is not actually the objective. Blix gets a lot of criticism here because most people don't understand the nature of his job at the U.N. We all know what his job should be. But not what it really is in practice.

What a complete and total waste it is to present you with facts. You just want to disrupt. Go away!
