Why do we post live threads an hour before the event? To be first?
Besides, every headliner needs an opening act. Or, it gives people a chance to place their bets before the ball drops into the number.

Let's remember that some of us are still at working and are reading our words because they can't see it on TV. Me! Me! I am here, at work......
To: Franking
That speech was "newspaper important", not "TV important" in the minds of the networks. Better suited to op-eds and column-4 pieces in the dailies that taking up vital, expensive TV time. Ah, well.
No doubt they'll get over it.

I'm glad that Brit Hume will be commentating after the speech rather than O'Reilly.O'Reilly's probably sulking because his wonderful self is being wiped off the air by the mere President of the United States. LOL!

Out of practice? It'll all come back to you!
(Plus, you need the practice for "the war.')

I'm gonna be on live tv locally after the speech after watching it from my local bar. What do I say?
To: Howlin
Fox News deprived right now (son has the TV until 7). Where are these Brit comments coming from? Is he having a pre-news conference show?

The White House did not ask for airtime for that speech. Your info is incorrect.

Thanks so much for this thread, Howlin. Mr. Otta and the boys are away for a couple days so I can FReep without interruption! (okay, that's not exactly why they left, but I plan to put the time to good use!)
To: Green
Aw, that's such a wonderful story! Thanks for sharing it! Just confirms what we all know -- that W is a real, caring guy, not a phony. Gotta love him!!

A little fun before the press conference:

*has her computer desk right next to the entertainment center that holds a 27 in TV* Ahhh... We have two computers here in the TV room. My husband has the good computer, and I'm using the cra..., err, laptop. One must get accustomed to multi-tasking.

The left don't miss a trick to make this President look bad. Remember during the Bush/Gore debates when one of the nets (CNN?) didn't split the screen evenly, giving Gore more room?
