NATIONS -- U.N. peacekeepers recently spotted armed U.S. Marines cutting a fence between Kuwait and Iraq, an act which was reported to the Security Council on Thursday as a possible violation of international law.
U.N. spokesman Fred Eckhard said peacekeepers who monitor a demilitarized zone set up after the 1991 Persian Gulf War between Iraq and Kuwait reported "numerous violations," since March 4 "by personnel in civilian clothes in 4 x 4 vehicles, at least some of whom were armed and identified themselves as U.S. Marines."
U.S. diplomats had no immediate comment on the matter.

To: AllYou all jest, but this is exactly the sort of thing these nuts would charge us with in the World Court" and this is exactly why GW will have no part in the World Court.

Which is all well and good as far as it goes. You are exactly right. And Bush deserves credit on that, although he didn't formally object until the world had ratified the body. Now, who would be bringing the charges you mentioned? Oh yes, the United Nations. And why are we still a member and paying around one third of all dues recieved by that organization? It's an organization whose members detest us for the most part.
The United Nations takes our money, then hands it out around the world, all the while fostering hate and resentment from the very folks getting the benefit our our generosity.

We've got a nation we're going to be going to war with in about a week. The best the two-bit tin dictator Kofi Annan can muster is for several of his munchkins on patrol to damn us for clearing a path for hundreds of thousands of troops to pass through.
The United Nations has been delivering ultimatums to Iraq for 12 years to no avail. Now they want to blame us for using some wire cutters, to enforce their ultimatum. The absurdity is clear.
Hussein has been pushing the limits since 1991. His time just ran out. United Nations, go pleasure yourself on someone else's dime.

I hope we do go into Iraq without UN sanction. In doing this, we will have shown the UN to be irrelevant. I agree with you in that they are anti-US and we have no business being part of such an organization.

Perhaps the U.N. could draft a resolution or two, and we'll get back to them when we're a bit less busy protecting the land their building sits on.......... LOL About that lease...when does it expire? Answer: not soon enough

Those Marines. I will be when the un looks into this they will find all kinds of very serious international crimes,,I just know it. Overdue Library books, unpaid traffic fines, being late for curfew, snitching extra girl scout cookies from the navy, sassiness, refusal to say "yes ma'am" in Louisiana, hooky playing to go fishing. And the true horror of it all,,smoking,,cigarets!!! Their mothers are weeping to read of the crimes of the fascist marines, I just know.

The U.N. operating at peak effectivness. I expect nothing less than this level of perfection from the pu$$ys in powder blue helmets. Couple that with the hairy photo of KSM and the whoring OBL and JUST EXACTLY WHAT ARE WE WAITING FOR???

Thanks. We can only hope. If they try to bring charges, I'd go to the United Nations, I'd get the floor and I'd let it be known that the United States will no longer be a part of an organization that ignores black slavery, white genocide and a host of things in order to dump on us.
Iraq hosts disarmament talks for several months. Lybia hosts the human rights panels. The United Nations is a friggen joke and I'd hit them between the eyes with every issue. Then I'd announce that I was withdrawing my nation and would urge everyone else to do the same.
The United Nations is a travesy of justice.

I just can't imagine why US military personnel would be dismantling this fence. I've thought and thought and thought and I simply haven't a clue as to why we would want to remove this fence. Any one have any ideas?

Oh no! What if the Belgains try to arrest our Marines?
