Bush expected to announce progress in Bin Laden hunt (UPDATE)
By THE JERUSALEM POST INTERNET STAFF
According to Israel Radio, US President Bush is expected to announce significant progress in the hunt for arch-terrorist Osama Bin Laden.
Media reports worldwide carried rumors that Bush was expected to announce Bin Laden's capture, but White House Spokesman, Ari Fleischer, was quoted as saying that President Bush was not going to announce that the terrorist had been captured.
Bush is expected to give a speech from the White House at 03:00 Israel time.
An intelligence official in Islamabad, Pakistan, said that US and Pakistani intelligence agencies are tightening the noose around Bin Laden's hideout, which is believed to be in the Baluchistan province of Pakistan on the border with Iran.

Kol Israel and The Jerusalem Post have backtracked and are no longer reporting Bin Laden captured. Pity.

The announcement will really be that the bombing of Iraq has just commenced.

It would be a let-down if all we get is "We got him on the run", "We're going to git em".

Here's a question for all. If we do capture Osama, will ther fruit loops then claim we don't need to invade Iraq now?

Maybe they aren't gonna announce his capture cause he's dead and they finally got proof?!
To: anotherview
If they had made progress, forget about it now.
This is like sneaking up behind someone, and when you're about 100 feet from them screaming "HEY! I HAVE ALMOST CAPTURED YOU!"
I don't want to hear about progress anymore than I want to know everything that happens to detainees at Gitmo and Bagram. Just show me the head on a stake once it's been mounted.

Ya, just gotta love the Bush team. I think that Rummy has the press singing and dancing the jig to his tune. It is such a delight to watch him handle the press.

No! - Why... there's still North Korea... and OBL had 63 children that all have the same last name... and pizza delivery is still too slow in the Mid-Atlantic states. There are dozens of things more important than liberating a tortured people from their dictator.

This just in: osamayomoma.org has announced the sighting of several American Apache helicopters circling a 7/11 outside Baluchistan...it seems Osama was running out of "virgin rum" and needed to stock up! Update at 9 est!

I hope they announce his desired martyrdom. During the martyrdom process he was accidentally decapitated and we are now ahead in the war against terror. However, the head has been immersed in salt pork and is being transported to a military hospital for further analysis. I know it is just a fantasy but what the hell. Just keeping him on the run and miserable is a great accomplishment.

I think the President will use this press conference to explain the Estrada issue directly to the American people since the media refuses to report on it at all. If this gets carried on all major networks, just think of the audience the President could reach without the media filter.
