LOL. A red double decker filled with powder blue hats bobbing through the desert. That image is making me laugh almost as much as MadIvan's thread on the spat between the Iraqi and Kuwaiti diplomats calling each other monkey and cursing their mustaches.
Not that the situation is humorous. It does help ease the tension a bit.

This is diabolically clever on Bush's part. By sending these signals, he's making Saddam extremely nervous. It may goad Saddam into doing something that will change the dynamics of the war debate in the U.N.

XXXXX DRUDGE REPORT XXXXX WED MARCH 05, 2003 18:31:52 ET XXXXX
BUSH MAKES THE CALL
**Exclusive**
President Bush on Wednesday night was to make the ultimate call whether to strike and invade Iraq with military force, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.
A top White House source offered few details, but did reveal the president would make a "defining decision" by morning.
The news comes just hours after Bush discussed top secret battle plans at the White House with his national security team and Army Gen. Tommy Franks, the man who would lead American forces in Iraq.
Military officials said the president had been told that an attack against Iraq could be carried out within the next several days, the NEW YORK TIMES is reporting on Thursday.
Plans for a major speech on Iraq next week by the president were under review. Bush might give Saddam a very short time period to disarm completely, perhaps as little as 72 hours, before military action.
Officials said a number of options for fighting were now ready.

Trust me--even though I wrote "Holy Moly!" I meant another word for "Moly!"
Toledo?
Cow!!
I can't see the "giv em 72 hrs" train of thought. More likely than not Saddam would launch pre-emptively to avoid destruction of his stuff on a first strike.

Eric, I understood Ripper was retired, which was why he could play "red team" in those exercises last year.
Has anyone confirmed that the UN IS evac'ing their folks? AND have we confirmed that the Inspectors are included? Or is this, like the WGST story the other day, the result of some one filling some blanks in that weren't really blanks???

who is "expelling"
that word makes it sound like Iraq is booting them

I can't see the "giv em 72 hrs" train of thought.I can't either, but did you see Leno last night? He had some guy on there, some sit-com guy...I don't know who he was...but he was hysterically funny. He said "I'm going to explain this war to the young people in this audience" then proceeded to say it was like, if their mom came up to them and said "In FOUR MONTHS, I'm gonna search your room for weed." He said you could be sure there wouldn't be any weed in the room...it would be over at your friend, Sudan's house.
I tell ya, I was just crying I was laughing so hard. I wish I knew who that guy was!

You know why the french have so many trees along the roads in Paris? So the Germans could march in the shade.

Yes, with heavy emphasis on the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
Never hurts to have a few bucks to spread around. I just wish they'd spend some to build a great big fence along our borders.

Thanks! I don't watch much TV and I sure had my finger on the off button when he started talking about the war, but then he started saying such hysterical stuff! When he was giving his website...hasmyshowbeencancelled.com and what was that other one he said? He participated in a "Hollywood celebrates who think other people give a d--- what we thing" march or something like that. It was a riot! He looked like a wreck but he sure was witty!
