Sorry, but IMHO Savage does more damage to the conservative movement than good. His emotional rants are all over the place, hyperbolic, over-the-top, and inconsistent, he treats too many of his callers like trash, and too often shoots himself in the foot on TV. The goal is to persuade and win over people to conservatism, to debate rather than spew vile hate. Rush, Hannity, Prager, etc. seem to manage to find the balance between persuasion, effective ridicule, and logic. Unfortunately too often Savage comes across as the stereotypical out-of-control illogical hate-filled looney that the left is always claiming everyone on the right is actually. Yes, he may be a great way for conservatives to vent, but being a highly visible charicature of the Dem's misrepresentations of the right, he provides a confirmation of their lies and an excuse for the questioning former liberal to write off the right and ignore our message.
Its too bad, I wish he were an effective voice of conservatism. Unfortunately he is just another acounterproductive Pat Buchanan.

He's an entertainer who's found his "act". Nothing more. The tendency to assign any real value to any of these guys is strange, let alone breathlessly hanging on their every word.

Sorry, but IMHO Savage does more damage to the conservative movement than good.I kinda' agree. At times Savage is a bit like Barry Goldwater on speed.
I do, however, enjoy his rants on the "Red Diaper Doper Babies". It really is an area of Leftist politics that needs a Klieg light shown onto it and "Savage" is plugged in.

"He demanded that gays 'accept the blame' for the rise of AIDS, then grumbled, 'Those who practice orgiastic sex, with many partners, and use street drugs are not likely to respond to reason.' "
Makes perfect sense to me.
The author of the article, David Gilson, calls it a "homophobic rant." Kinda gives the game away, doncha think?

The Trotskyite Trogdolyte of the Far Right?
He seems to have changed his political leanings without changing his philosophy.
