An Open Letter To The Hollywood Bunch..by Charlie Daniels

Ok let’s just say for a moment you bunch of pampered, overpaid, unrealistic children had your way and the U.S.A. didn’t go into Iraq.

Let’s say that you really get your way and we destroy all our nuclear weapons and stick daisies in our gun barrels and sit around with some white wine and cheese and pat ourselves on the back, so proud of what we’ve done for world peace.

Let’s say that we cut the military budget to just enough to keep the National Guard on hand to help out with floods and fires.

Let’s say that we close down our military bases all over the world and bring the troops home, increase our foreign aid and drop all the trade sanctions against everybody.

I suppose that in your fantasy world this would create a utopian world where everybody would live in peace. After all, the great monster, the United States of America, the cause of all the world’s trouble would have disbanded it’s horrible military and certainly all the other countries of the world would follow suit.

After all, they only arm themselves to defend their countries from the mean old U.S.A.

Why you bunch of pitiful, hypocritical, idiotic, spoiled mugwumps. get your head out of the sand and smell the Trade Towers burning. Do you think that a trip to Iraq by Sean Penn did anything but encourage a wanton murderer to think that the people of the U.S.A. didn’t have the nerve or the guts to fight him?

Barbra Streisand’s fanatical and hateful rankings about George Bush makes about as much sense as Michael Jackson hanging a baby over a railing.

You people need to get out of Hollywood once in a while and get out into the real world. You’d be surprised at the hostility you would find out here. Stop in at a truck stop and tell an overworked, long distance truck driver that you don’t think Saddam Hussein is doing anything wrong.

Tell a farmer with a couple of sons in the military that you think the United States has no right to defend itself.

Go down to Baxley, Georgia and hold an anti-war rally and see what the folks down there think about you.

You people are some of the most disgusting examples of a waste of protoplasm I’ve ever had the displeasure to hear about.

Sean Penn, you’re a traitor to the United States of America. You gave aid and comfort to the enemy. How many American lives will your little, ”fact finding trip“ to Iraq cost? You encouraged Saddam to think that we didn’t have the stomach for war.

You people protect one of the most evil men on the face of this earth and won’t lift a finger to save the life of an unborn baby. Freedom of choice you say?

Well I’m going to exercise some freedom of choice of my own. If I see any of your names on a marquee, I’m going to boycott the movie. I will completely stop going to movies if I have to. In most cases it certainly wouldn’t be much of a loss.

You scoff at our military who’s boots you’re not even worthy to shine. They go to battle and risk their lives so ingrates like you can live in luxury. The day of reckoning is coming when you will be faced with the undeniable truth that the war against Saddam Hussein is the war on terrorism.

America is in imminent danger. You’re either for her or against her. There is no middle ground.

I think we all know where you stand.

What do you think?

God Bless America

Charlie Daniels

NO! THe ones that are wrong, treacherous, and traitorous are the ones that need to shut up.

Define "wrong" for starters. Secondly, thise new definition of "treason" is baffling. You kill any rational argument you may have by calling people who disagree with you or this war "traiters". They are not.

What's with this moral equivalence crapola?

Im not sure what you are getting at. Support everyones free speech.

They have every right to speak, but when they are spewing treasonous bilge, we have a right to prosecute and imprison them, and I wish to God that General Ashcroft would get started on that.

Now you are just off your rocker. Prosecute people for objecting to a war? Kind of scary notions, john.

Could you take anymore concepts and confuse them together? Im wondering.

Would it be alright with you if Saddam destroyed Israel?

Since we are making so much headway, then there is no reason to attack Iraq, no?

That's my big problem. Could a war against Iraq been sold to the American people before September 11, 2001? No. What about a year ago? No. Our gole was to destroy the terrrorists responsible. Now, we are making lists of countries we want to attack. Hardly a day goes by that there isn't a thread here titled "some country" is next after Iraq. Sounds like someone is preparing for a perpetual war, and Im not sure why.

Many people object to a war with Iraq because our gola was to destroy the terrorists responsible, not just start attacking any country who has had hostility against us.

According to the INS, about 600-700 people around the country have been arrested so far, with the eventual goal of deporting 300,000 absconders. Phase one is to deport people who arrived from countries with ties to the Al Qaeda.

Hands are tied by those liberals who become "deportation shields" for illegals living in this country; otherwise, our rights as citizens would override the illegals' whom the liberals believe, as do their attornies, should have the same rights of protection as do you and me.

I agree. They all need to be immediately deported. Get them out of here. Its been over a year and a half since 9/11. Enough haven't been deported. College campuses are filled with them. Stop allowing them to aquire skills to kill us with.

..so as I posted earlier, as I believe we want the same thing.... clean up on aisle C has begun..but sometimes the crap has built up so high for so long by the former jackass leadership, it's hard to find the barn floor once again. Walk swiftly and carry a big shovel! ;)

Thanks for explaining yourself in this post. I had not read the other threads.

I agree with you in your reasoning, but I do disagree with your conclusion only in that I believe that we have a serious threat (as do the Iraqi people) that must be dealt with now, rather than later.

While I have no respect for the leftist idiots, I do respect your opposition because it is based on principle rather than meaningless platitudes spouted by those who would love to see our way of life destroyed.

Also, I like the way way you have maintained your composure despite some heated and passionate posts to you.

Here are some links where concerns are listed. I do not have time to repost such things or argue about this.

I’m only an observer on this thread, but I do think that if one is posting information that he has access to, it is up to him to summarize the information before posting, and not to require others to spend their time “proving” or “disproving” what the poster has said. :-o

Thank you for a polite, well reasoned response. I don't mind that you disagree with my conclusion. I think once those who support the war see that not everyone who has some objections is in-line with the Hollyweirdos, we can have reasonable discussions as to what a solution for the "Iraq problem" can be and each other can have the opportunity to explain their ideas and rationale.

I actually may come around to support military action if we can wait and see what happens next. Im not a fan myself of these inspections, but I still dont see why war has to be right now - and by right now, I mean that almost literally. I maye be convinced six months from now if Iraq refuses to destroy weapons. It seems this is being rushed, and I can't see the reason. I understand that some do see a reason, but IMO, what is Iraq going to do in the next six months that they couldn't have done in the last ten years? Their refusal to destroy weapons and the means of making them, combined with past hostile actions, would be reason enough for a coalition to say, "That's it, we are comming for you Saddam". They would then be an obvious threat to all.

FYI,

The article that I linked that was on the LP website was posted here by someone else and immediately removed and the poster banned. I have no idea why. That's why I just linked it. Its just questions posed to teh President. Nothing imflamatory at all. Genuine questions.

And the "posting screen" says that anything that is written like an html link will be automatically hyperlinked, but apparently that functions is not working.

"Go down to Baxley, Georgia and hold an anti-war rally and see what the folks down there think about you."

If they did that, it would be ugly.

By the end, they'd be bowing their heads because they knew that they'd been beat. And they'd be laying their Oscars of solid gold at Charlie's feet.

I think this was all I needed to see, personally, to know what your "concerns" are and what you think of "so-called conservatives".

Another interesting tidbit about Charlie, is that he was a democrat ( he even performed at Jimmy Carter's inaugural ball). I don't know if he still is, but he's certainly an AMERICAN!

I hope so CBb, but most of those spoiled brats were raised by Red parents who never liked America except for the money and face space in magazines and the various screens.

They will never like America and what we stand for. The best thing we can do is encourage everyone we know to stop going to movies and quite buying and renting videos. I do not watch them anymore. I've even stopped watching the Agency, cause of that twit, who blasted our President and said we had no right going into Iraq, forgot his name.

The Iraqi deputy prime minister congratulated Penn on his "opposition to all wars and all forms of aggression" and urged other peace activists to follow his lead "so that peace and security can reign throughout the world."
