Again, was Iraq an eminent threat a year ago? If so, why didn't we bomb the country then? How about when there was evididence Iraq was involved in the OK City bombing? Why not then? I have to wonder what the real reason is when the President is saying "we got to do it, RIGHT NOW" when North Korea is essentially daring us to mess with them and threatening nuclear war.

Did it ever occur to you that our government knows more than we the public do about what Saddam has and what his ties are to other terrorists? Hmmm? Gee, you seem to have more time than you originally thought. The bottom line is I am not willing to risk the lives of my children on the 'feelings' of leftists whose only agenda is to undermine our president and government in order to gain control in the next election. Doing things peacefully got us 911.

This upcoming war should not be political, but it is because the democrats want to try to spin what they can to benefit them. We were attacked on our own soil for goodness sake. And, if no WMD ever existed in Iraq and no terrorists attacked on 911, wouldn't you believe that the HORRIBLE treatment of the Iraqi people would be enough to invade? That's where all of the 'no war' arguments fall through. They claim to care about human life but they fail to think about all of the Iraqi people who die by the hand of Saddam on a yearly basis. These people die while we sit on our hands and the lefties pass the bong at the peace rallies. It's almost as if the left thinks American lives are more important than those of the Iraqis. I thought the left cares about the oppressed, but I guess they don't.

Now, unlike you who claims not to have time to argue, I really don't have time for more discussion on this topic. You accuse me of getting my talking points from the government, which is false. I can think for myself, thank you. I will refrain from accusing you of getting your talking points from liberal websites, though I have seen them all listed there.

sorry tally, not ignoring the idiots, my conscience won't let me, if you choose to do so that's your choice. However, I feel by ignoring them they think I agree with them, and I am not letting that happen...will write to every one I can think of to make dang sure they know I DON'T agree with them...common sense tells me this :)

And I support your right to free speech. Tell them what you think. Dont tell them to stop excercising their rights, though(and I do not know if you specifically want that or not).

I wonder if we will ever see a non violence category of film awards?

Martin Sheen and the others have profited handsomely from his portrayal of violence.

The new Executive Office for Terrorist Financing and Financial Crimes a major step in the government's efforts to financially paralyze terrorists and their money laundering have roughly seized or blocked $124.5 million in assets belonging to terrorists worldwide since Sept. 11 as a result of the U.S.-led campaign. New powers created by the 2001 USA Patriot Act have assisted in the arrest of those diverting financial support to known terrorists we know as a fact.

It appears that many countries do not see Iraq as a threat to them. YET!

Sounds like the 1930's all over again.....

World War III here we come.

Now that is truly funny.

I find nothing at all funny about 911. However, after your comment, I can see what kind of 'person' I have been conversing with. I also have noticed that you like to parrot information from government officials, but you mock me for doing so. I thought, for once, I may have found a 'smart' liberal, but alas, my search continues. You should feel fortunate that you did not know anyone in the twin towers. It was a very sad day for most Americans.

you've got it backwards. Our government is doing what we pay it to and entrust it with.

Read his lips, "I hear what you're saying!" President Bush at WTC service.

1)Why is it RIGHT NOW??
Because we finally have a President who is willing to name, confront and fight evil.

2)This will only cause increased terrorists attempts....
All the more reason to act.

3)All of their former leaders are just that.

4)The Saudis are hardly out of this all encompassing war.

5)"...we would need NO authorization or supporty from the UN or any other country...."
Right. Though we seek accomodation while demonstrating UN "irrelevence", which we may well use to eventually withdraw from the organization.

6)He has threatened their use should we attack him.

7)Same as #3.

Just one more question, please. Would it be alright with you if Saddam destroyed Israel?

When the SHTF, I hope that one of my fellow Rednecks is the guy in the foxhole next to me.

So-called "Rednecks" seem to be the one's with consistent values, and more than a smidgen of motivation and courage. I wear the name proudly.

If you really think we have acted peacefully to innocent people in foreign countries up until September 11, 2001, then you are not living in reality.

Yes, but how many people from terrorist supporting countries have been deported? Our government is saying in one breath, "We have to stop these people", and in the next, claiming such people have a right to be in OUR country in what they call a time of war.

"Let's be fair."

From your posts, I sense that your form of "fairness" is the reason that Saddam is alive today and still causing problems for freedom loving people everywhere. I don't need to see any evidence other than his propaganda about declaring was on the US, and what he will do to us if we invade his country.

When somebody threatens me or my family with physical harm, and has the means to do so, I say just kill the bastard, and eliminate the threat.

Threatening to do harm to someone is not 'free speech', it's an invitation to an ass whuppin'.

NO! THe ones that are wrong, treacherous, and traitorous are the ones that need to shut up. What's with this moral equivalence crapola? They have every right to speak, but when they are spewing treasonous bilge, we have a right to prosecute and imprison them, and I wish to God that General Ashcroft would get started on that.

I thought, for once, I may have found a 'smart' liberal, but alas, my search continues.

Well, since labels or "liberal" and "conservative" have little meaning these days, I will not address the fact that I am probably not what you would label a "liberal". You should feel fortunate that you did not know anyone in the twin towers. It was a very sad day for most Americans.

You imply that a) I didn't know anyone and b) That I was not sad. Although a) is true, you have no idea of my feelings. For the first few months, I was all ready to bomb the hell out of the terrorists responsible. I was mad as hell. I still think those repsonsible should face justice, just as everyone with a brain does. Although I disagree with our foreign policy, it does not give anyone a right to attack us. However, we must change our foreign policy or this will never end.

I have posted my opinion on "what we should do" before on other threads. So those here do not misunderstand me, I'll do it again:

When a country directly attacks us, unprovoked by our meddling in affairs tens of thousands of miles away, then they should be destroyed. I am by no means a pacifist. In the mean time, our foreign policy needs a serious change. Our troops need to be brought home. We need to quit relying upon Middle Eastern oil by drilling here or buying from the other countries. No more wars in places like Bosnia and such. Our borders need to be strengthened. Those from terrorist supporting countries who are not citizens need to be deported. Sorry, they cant stay if we are to be safe from terrorism. Make it clear that any country who supports terrorist attacks against the USA will be destroyed. This policy needs to start NOW, and first, before we bomb any country. Get the terrorists, if they are still out there. Stop aiding countries. Fix our country first by lowering taxes and reducing government.

A captured Yemeni cleric Moayad was arrested after a year long sting operation in Germany. He claimed to be Osama bin Sheik Laden's spiritual adviser and personally delivering $20 million to the al-Qaida leader in the years before the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. Mohammed, #3 in al-Qaida, was arrested this past weekend in Pakistan, which was joint operation by the CIA, Pakistani police and his son Rahman who was convicted in 1995 of conspiring to blow up the UN offices in New York helped. And the list grows per day.

Just a few more to your comment: Our government has YET to take rational steps to keep terrorists out and deport the ones who are here.

Breaking up the communication and financial ties to terrorists where ever they may hole up..to me is a big step in the war on terroism. Divide and conqueor. All this is just a part the "clean up on aisle 'C'" Bush has succeeded in achieving since taking over office from a self serving William Jefferson Clinton.
