Knee-flexed Rather, on the frequency of terrorists: "Mr. President, if only you knew how
much I and others at CBS suport you rather than Mr. Bush"
Terrorist Saddam: "Mr, Rather, it is absolutely remarkable that you media girly men
will repeatedly betray the USA, your President, and even the American people during war
for so little. We usually must gang rape a man's children and his wife, then burn and mutilate them
and then electrify his testicles and even cut off a few fingers before
he betrays his people. We are very lucky to have you and CBS fakers, Mr. Rather."

I heard a funny piece done by Jimmie Kimmel (I think...) where he said, "Wouldn't it have saved a lot of lives if Dan Rather had just whacked Sadamm during the interview?".........

This is kind of hilarious, in a sad and strange way.
But it's not like the Dan Rather show had much real credibility, anyway.
Didn't Saturday Night Live once also have a guy who mostly just played a "foreigner."

"It's always nicer to be straight with the audience."
Perfect! Ethics in Media was a course that was cancelled due to low enrollment and lack of funding. When asked to comment, Richard Wald, a professor at Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism said he was unaware that such curriculum ever existed. He went on to add, "besides, your question is not nice."

A fourth such translator recorded the actual audio in a voice compatible with the piece. ..in order to deceive the American public into believing they were hearing an on-the-spot translation from an Arab-American.
If Amwericans realized the cynical manipulation that went intp preparing the piece, it would almost seem that CBS was trying to polish Saddam's public image.

It didn't violate CBS News standards and practices, the network said, and the spokeswoman said CBS has used such a technique previously. If this doesn't say it all about a completely VAPID, DELUSORY news organization, nothing does!

Howard Stern seminar caller to Dan Rather: "You're an Idiot!"
Rather reply: "I'm an Idiot!"

in complete compliance with CBS News StandardsCBS don't need no stinking standards.

Who faked Rather?</> Who facked Saddam?
Next, they will be telling us that was not really the real Saddam, but Saddam #1,#2,#3,#4,or #5.
Did they get DNA evidence? How can we be sure. ;)

This isn't surprising coming from an institution that fakes journalism in general on a daily basis.

But Richard Wald, a professor at Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism, and a former head of standards and practices for ABC News, said that as long as CBS didn't pretend the speaker was Hussein, "there's nothing wrong with having done it." "It would have been better if they had simply told" viewers, however, he said. "It's always nicer to be straight with the audience." If accurately quoted, what additional evidence is required to support the contention that most journalists consider jadedness to be the mark of a true journeyman? Good grief, this guy is educating graduate students at the most prestigious school of journalism in the world!

Winfield, in a very brief telephone interview, confirmed that he was the voice of Hussein on the CBS program and described himself as the show's "on-air interpreter," before passing the phone to his wife, Judy. What's with hiding behind the wife?
