I feel like a real P.O.S. when I get wind of some people's pedigree. Still, I admire and aspire great people.

I caught part of a recent Biography on Rumsfeld. He even took the B-1 bomber up for a test spin, when he was SoD the first time, under PresFord. A very able man, indeed. A man for all seasons.

Those of us who frequent the thread "A Day in the Life of President Bush" know this.
rintense, do you have the picture of Rummy when he was a Navy pilot?
To: dennisw
Anyone know what he flew? If he was carrier qualified, that might explain why he seems to have nerves of steel.

Just heard this on the Savage Nation. I think Michael is going to have photos of Rummy on his T.V show Saturday.

Well the Demoncraps don't know it. In one of their diatribes regarding the Bush "Hawks" he was made out to be someone who "dodged" the Viet Nam War. Of course, none of those boobs mentiuoned the Xlintoon!

If someone is a carrier qualified Navy fighter pilot, that is all you need to know about them. Every last one of them has the right stuff. Period!

This is a bit off topic, but I have searched all over to find his religious affiliation. It is easy to find for almost all senior members of the administration, but his is specifically absent on all Google searches I have tried. The obvious guess would be Jewish, with a second possibility that he is Episcopalian.
What say you, Freepers?

I just love watching Rummy BAR B QUE reporters in the morning, it smells like...... it smells like VICTORY.

He publicly sought the vice-presidential nomination in 1980 and briefly ran for the Republican presidential nomination in 1988 against the George Bush 41, before dropping out and backing former Bob Dole for the job. He was also Doles campaign chairman in his failed 1996 presidential bid against Bill Clinton.

Rumsfeld for Congress pin.

Watched his bio on A&E last week. Learned a lot of interesting stuff about him. Fascinating life.

"Under Ford, he was named the 13th secretary of defense, the youngest person to serve in that position in this countrys history."
And now he has the distinction of being the oldest person to ever hold the position.
