Donald Rumsfeld is a former Naval aviator. Did you know this?

Posted on 03/04/2003 4:33:43 PM PST by dennisw

He is an alumnus of Princeton University and former Naval aviator who first went to Washington, DC, in 1957 to serve as administrative assistant to a congressman. He was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives from Illinois in 1962 and was re-elected in 1964, 1966 and 1968. He resigned from Congress in 1969 to serve in the Nixon administration. He served as U.S. Ambassador to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization in Brussels, Belgium, for a year before returning to Washington in 1974 to serve in the Ford administration. Under Ford, he was named the 13th secretary of defense, the youngest person to serve in that position in this country’s history.

LOL!

This was supposedly the (true!) response to a Boston dowager type by a salty Navy Admiral at a cocktail party when asked: "What is it like to land an airplane on an aircraft carrier at night."

"Ma'am, the three greatest joys a man can experience are catching a three wire, having an orgasm, and taking a really good dump. A night carrier landing oftentimes allows you to experience all three simultaneously."

A belated welcome to FRee Republic.

And, exactly, how much do you know about Naval Aviators?

And, further, how did you come to be in possession of this knowledge?

LOL!

What I like best about Rummy is the fact that (in spite of his spectacular resume) he's still married to the mother of his children and is a good husband, father and grandfather.

Successful men who are also sleazeballs in their personal lives are simply losers who failed at the most important job they had: husband and father. Jack Welch is a perfect example. I'd mention The First Rapist, also, except I don't really consider him to be successful.

I liked cat shots -- particularly the old H-8 hydraulic cat shots at night. Quite a lick!

But I really loved the challenge each carrier approach and landing presented me.

See my post #50.

That was the first thing I noticed about him. I was meant to be listening to him talking about Force-sizing (I was researching a feature I was wriitng about him) but my hormones interfered and I couldn't take my eyes off those shoulders. I gather he works out in a gym in DC and is in superb shape. Hoo-ah!! as our splendid troops shout when he visits them..Lucky Mrs R.

"Do the troops like it?"

The E-6 Recruiter I talked to does. And thank YOU for your service and continuing efforts.

Looks like Bob is working on something as yet unpublicized with VetsCoR as contact for any Veterans groups.

We're also fleshing out our Veterans Walk for Freedom in July. With the right planning and promotion, that could be fun and get some media attention. We've got you slotted in somewhere between Annapolis and DC. We plan to have a changing of the guard, if you will, each morning to hand off the documents to the next Walker(s). I would really like you to take the segment from Annapolis if at all posible. We'll talk later.

Champion wrestler, Navy pilot, squash player, skydiver--sexy stuff. I gather he works out at a DC gym and is BUILT. He was on BBC TV special this week; one UK Tv reviewer said he was 'so urbane' you 'could almost hear him purring.' I'd be happy to make him purr any time.
