NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--Military sources say as many as four North Korean MiGs intercepted a U.S. reconnaissance plane over international waters during the weekend, MSNBC reported Monday.
According to the sources, the MiGs came within 500 feet of the U.S. RC-135 plane but didn't act aggressively, MSNBC said.
The network said the incident - the first such intercept since 1969 - happened in international air space over the Korean peninsula.

I bet Saddam is putting the nitwit up to these stunts.. Agreed. Too much of coincidence to just write it off as posturing for posturing sake. They're trying to distract. Problem is, they just might be insane enough to actually try something once Iraq goes hot. If that happens, watch China very carefully, IMO.

No....they are on a mission to protect their good friend Saddam from getting the ass kicking... So they don't think we can walk and chew gum at the same time? ....And anyway, why would they sacrifice themselves just to save some other two-bit dictator?

Maybe they wanted to surrender. Probably looking for food. If they're going to surrender, then their whole regime is going to surrender. Iow, no more communism on the peninsula. I highly doubt that's what they're looking for.

Good catch. Extremely plausible. I did a double take when I saw the deployment as well. Wouldn't they be the sixth group in the Gulf if they deployed there? Was that part of the plan? Interesting.
