Hatch is asking for adjournment til tomorrow. Giving the Rats an hour of Morning Business and Harry Reid thanks him.
Then business will return to Estrada hearings. The filibuster continues...but there seems to be a thaw.

Hatch is requesting for unanimous consent to adjourn and return to Estrada when 2 hours of business is up.

Closing business for the day. Hatch sets out tomorow's agenda, giving time to Dems in the morning, and Dems are admitting they can't promise to get their people there (!!!), then, on to Estrada. Hatch is making crystal clear statments about Dem action on the Estrada matter, and encouraging them to "speak now," intimating that refusal to vote after tomorrow is unreasonable.

I don't think a 24/7 is in the cards anytime soon...in fact my personal opinion is that it never will happen.

Major Garrett (ahem!) just said the vote for cloture will be on Thursday, and Republicans will lose.
But the Estrada fight will continue.

For once I'm relieved they're adjourning. I have to go to a meeting tonight and was not looking forward to missing all the fun!

Maybe I am grasping at straws, but I did hear Orrin say this : "I encourage any Senator who wishes to speak further on the Estrada matter to do so tomorrow."
In the absence of anything else to hang my hat on, I will assume that a cloture petition will be filed tomorrow. At least I can hope.

Major Garrett reporting on Fox. Shows a clip of a strong Hatch out talking to cameras, then Garrett says (paraphrase here) "it doesn't seem to matter enough to force a classic filibuster" then he shows a clip of Jimmy Stewart from "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington" (oh, brother!). Then he explains how it can be forced to a 24/7 deal. Then he says "but democrats did not have this hard of a time and today strayed from the topic", then airs clips of their nonsense.
I will give my opinion that Garrett has an opinon that this should be moved to 24/7 or they aren't serious. He does not see the longterm plan and I can see where his slant came from in last week's story. He is not seeing it the way many of us are seeing it, IMO.

Major Garrett (ahem!) just said the vote for cloture will be on Thursday, and Republicans will lose. Heheheh. Good (inside) joke. It was a joke, right?

The dems talked and talked, complained and talked some more. Then they bashed Bush and accused him of not handling the war. Then they complained some more about the senate's vote on previous administrations voting patterns then hillary came out to introduce a bill and Hatch said no and she looked shocked that she was told no, then went on rambling about how we really should pay more attention to what is being said.
SOS different day.

1. Did they call for a vote today??
2. Who gave the speech today on not enough info? (The Hillary quote)
3. No one responded to the letters to the Senators for requests for additional information IN WRITING which is always a trap.

Major Garrett (ahem!) just said the vote for cloture will be on Thursday, and Republicans will lose. But the Estrada fight will continue. I was trying to listen and type my impression of Major's report and missed this part! What do you think of my other perceptions (see #742).
PKM, do you know anything about a cloture vote on Thursday?
