No kidding UofM is liberal. We get a lot of MO students here at OU where conservatives have a chance. My oldest daughter went to OU and now my youngest daughter will in the Journalism School next Fall after completing her pre-journalism requirements.

One of their prime classes is Ethics in Journalism which they keep telling the students is their primary goal. Do not write an article until you have full researched for the article and if it is not on the editorial page, don't put your opinions in the article.

Well, Easter is coming up, so let's keep this going until Good Friday. We can peal off any "Catholic" Senators, and also the campaign Queens.

If there are only 85 Senators, then how many do we need to close cloture?

You're right about Major Garrett. He used to cover congress for The Washington Times, and was a contributing writer for The Weekly Standard.
Not exactly lefty territory.

I don't know why he screwed up on the Estrada story.

That's the way I read it! She is on the Rules from the last session. These three nominations had been discussed for more than a week so that little Rule flew out the window!

Only ten votes are required to bring a nominee to the floor and thus no minority votes needed!

Agreed.....and I don't know if it is a coincidence, but I haven't seen him since that article came out. But I didn't watch Fox News 24/7 over the weekend.

I have nothing to base that on other than what I read online here at FR at the time Fox News hired him.

Oh, everybody has a bad day, including Major Garrett. It may be that he misunderstood cloture (as many have) and simply misread the emotions of Frist.

I do wish they would correct it. Maybe on Brit's show tonight they will.

What is that you posted? Is he implying that Estrada is not Hispanic enough?

Yep that was from a press conference conducted the other day. I think Tommy was there also along with others...

Estrada was born in Honduras and migrated to the US when he was 17, taught himself English and never looked back.

I'm gonna hurt somebody before this is all over; I just hope it's nobody I'm related to.

I started paying attention to politics during the early years of Clinton when the Dems were in charge of the house and stuff was run by Garcia or something like that ...a really ornery cuss ..Jim Leach was trying to get them to look at Whitewater I think...anyway I felt the same way.I couldnt believe that anyone could act the way he(Garcia) did.

The funny thing is that the "hold" deal was from the last Session. I thought they did away with holds.

Let me check when the Committee last met! The Committee met on 12 Feb and then did not meet again to consider nominations until last Thursday as far as I can find!

Or how many? That's stupid.

I guess we need to start being pro-active.

Graham filed Prez papers today...another one hitting the dollar trail.
