For a change, I have something to report.
Two things made my week even worse. I stayed at a house which subscribes to HBO. I turned on the TV for some mindless time-wasting. Boy, did I get my money's worth.
1. The new Bill Maher show. Ann Coulter's appearance didn't make it any more watchable, and that was a first for me. It's a more shrill "Politically Incorrect" with swear words. He says F--- and SH-- just because he can.
2. The endless previews of the upcoming HBO film "Normal," starring the repulsive Jessica Lange, in a story about a midwestern middle-aged man who suddenly announces to his wife and family he wants a sex change. Or something like that. Great art!

Has anybody suggested to matt that he use FR as his source for real 'breaking news'?
His 'breaking' have been such a 'disappoint and stale' as of late... :O

Yes! It's working, and instantly!
Thanks for the welcome back. Thanks also, to everyone for their messages. I'm still feeling a bit numb but that'll take awhile.

Drudge is talking about Savage on TV, his old Saturday night FNC time slot, and how Alan Keyes didn't do it for MSNBC.

1. I think Bill misses his college fraternity.
2. Hollywood art imitates Hollywood life.

You nailed both.
"Their adolescent daughter, Patty Ann, takes the news more in stride as she is discovering the awkwardness of her own burgeoning sexuality."
"Ultimately, the family struggles to understand Roy's decision and he and Irma discover that love can transcend both the genders we're born with and the ones we choose."

Okay, which of you Californians didn't make it on the air?
Caller tells Drudge he's a national treasure and an independent-minded journalist.

The first caller sounded like he was trying to imitate Savage.
I'm surprised Drudge didn't pick up on it.
To: Calvin Locke
Is that the name I was trying to conjure? You're right. It was a vaguely familiar voice but I didn't put 2&2 together.

Kim and Saddam deserve each other.

This caller from Delaware sounds a little like Pat Buchanan.
I don't get the only-about-oil people. If it was only about oil, wouldn't we be invading Venezuela?

"I don't get the only-about-oil people. If it was only about oil, wouldn't we be invading Venezuela?"
You know, I was 13 when the first Gulf War happened. I remember seeing the "no blood for oil" people on TV, and thinking, "What are they talking about? Some guy invaded another country, is killing people and stealing things. We're going to go kick him out. Why do they think we just want oil? Seems a little inconvenient to wait until someone invades someone else just to go steal oil."
To: lainie
I give it a 50% on vocal imitation, 95% on tone & style.
The local preempts Savage all the time for sports. Letter to editor today complained about the station announcing they'll carry
the Yankees - the writer sees something nefarious about it.
(Begs the question, then why carry him in the first place is you're going to sabotage your own programming????)
To: lainie
wouldn't we be invading Venezuela?Ah, but rubbing the A-rabs' noses in it would be sooo satisfying, wouldn't it? We've spent so much money on the product, we ought to own the facilities by now.
And I think Saddam still owes us for the costs of the 1991 war too.
Does anybody know how many troops and equipment we're talking about, regarding Turkey?
