Tulsans Attend Pro-America Rally Location: Tulsa

Thousands of Tulsans showed their support for America's troops in a pro-America rally Sunday. It comes at a time when the country draws nearer every day to a decision to go to war.
They filed into Memorial Stadium to show support for their country, the President and the troops. They say now is the time to speak up.
"I think it's time for those in the majority to stand up and say what they really believe," says Ron Jackson.
Tulsa Mayor Bill Lafortune joined other Oklahoma dignitaries at the rally, including State Senator Scott Pruitt.
"They are there not only to provide protection for us," says Pruitt. "They are there standing on behalf of a belief and a conviction that America stands for freedom."
"Sometimes when I go around Washington, I see the war protestors and they make me mad," added U.S. Congressman John Sullivan.
U.S. Senator Jim Inhofe says the burden of proof is on Saddam Hussein, not the United States. The message is clear. They remember September 11th and they remember the troops every day.
During Sunday's rally, a group of anti-war protestors also gathered at 41st and Yale.

Tulsa Mayor Bill Lafortune ...Is there some city ordinance in Tulsa that states that anyone elected mayor must be named "LaFortune"?
P.S. Lived in Broken Arrow for six years, really miss the place. Except for the twisters.

My husband and I were on the far left of the "home" side (the only time I could say I'm ever at the "far left" hahaha). Anyway, we saw him walking around in his uniform. My husband and I both wanted to go salute or shake his hand or do SOMETHING as a show of respect. It's easy to know a real hero when you see it. Wow. I'm so glad I went, and I'm so glad my kids went with us.

Living History Day, put on by Tulsa Home Educators and F.A.I.T.H. They had a full day WW2 program at the USS Batfish in Muskogee, including some of the original crewmen. WOW!
This year is American Frontier at Fort Gibson, June 7. Your leaders should have the information from T.H.E.; it might not be too late to sign up.

Except for the twisters. Hasn't been one since we moved here, May 1999. I think we've even had a warning-drill once; I remember all of us huddling in the back hall ...
We had to refugee from the BIG ONE in Norman in April '99, gave me a long-lasting case of nerves!

God bless you and your two good-lookin' little jedis! My 19 year old son accompanied me to Washington DC for the Patriots rally on Saturday! Not as large of a turnout there, but just as much heart! All these rallies - big and small - do our troops good!

I saw my first one when I lived on Nashville St. (Just south of 81st St. and east of Aspen) back in Spring 1991. It went right overhead, broke apart, reformed, broke apart, etc.
Finally touched down near Collinsville.

We're east of 101st and Aspen. One touched down on our street, years ago - took out a garage at the west end and a roof at the east end. I wish we had a cellar!

I heard they're having a pro-America rally at 50 Penn place tommorrow at 5:30 PM. My family's going, but I work at night, otherwise I would go. Still debating calling in sick.
BTW- My nephew is in the army and he left on a 1:30 flight today for Kuwait.

Thanks for your prayers, 50 Penn Place is the building right across from Penn Square mall on the south side of the street across from the mall.

LOL! Yes, that would make a difference. We've only lived here about 5 years, but I thought for sure I'd know about a MALL!!

I haven't been there in a couple of years, it's a good mall, but it's horrible parking.

Like I said, those I don't miss. Otherwise, I have nothing but great memories of the place. We sold our house just NORTH of 101st and east of Aspen just a few years ago (2000, I think).

You look familiar. I'm sure I've seen you a million times, and just have a terrible memory. See you tomorrow.

My husband, daughter, and two-year-old grandson went with me to the rally today. We were sitting on the north side of the "home" bleachers.
There are a few more pictures of the rally here:

(Ithica) It took out our fence! Wild. Now I'm in Virginia, wishing so bad that I was back in the center of the universe (Oklahoma).
