Source: Suspected 9/11 Mastermind Caught

Saturday March 1, 2003 6:20 PM

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (AP) - Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, the suspected mastermind of Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks in the United States, was arrested Saturday in Pakistan, a senior Pakistan government source told The Associated Press.

Mohammed, who is on the FBI's most wanted list, was among three people arrested in Rawalpindi, near the Pakistani capital of Islamabad, the official said.

U.S. officials regard Mohammed as a key al-Qaida lieutenant and organizer of the terror mission that sent hijacked passenger jets crashing into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and a Pennsylvania field, killing more than 3,000 people.

Mohammed, 37, has not been charged in the Sept. 11 attacks, but he has been charged in a 1995 terror plot. He is one of the FBI's most-wanted terror suspects, and the U.S. government is offering up to $25 million for information leading to his capture.

No matter how they're dressed or disguised, they all have dead eyes.

If it takes months to get what he knows, then it's too late.

Alright, alright. Maybe just a bit of torture to see what might be gotten quickly; but then the long, slow mind reaming...

I would love to get on the inside and see how these guys are handled. No, I don't mean the physical torture, I mean the mind shag. I have NO knowledge of how this actually works, but I'm imagining little snatches of fake newscasts that they are allowed to "accidentally" overhear, or fake newspaper headlines they are allowed to glimpse. I don't know if this tactic of constructing a carefully designed alternate reality is even used, but if so the mind reels. I would imagine there may also be a friendly and seemingly gulible guard who they think they are gradually converting to islam. It would be so cool to really see how this is done, but of course it's better not to be known.

No extradition needed, safe to say this guy is going to some backwater for an extended stay and a up close and personal introduction to several different intelligence agencies, not only ours. Other agencies don't have to worry about "human rights" or "protocols" that we do.

This man will sing. He will sing so loud, and so often. He will NEVER see a US courtroom. Once he is drained of information, he will go to gitmo, once we are done, he will be tried, and he will die in whatever manner a tribunal sees fit. Firing squad or "slow" hanging would be best IMO.

Slow hanging was what accidently happened to people when the rope was too "short" to allow for the neck breaking. Very humane(sic). Heheh
