There is not much I like about he speech. More rhetoric. I don't much care for this plan to feed those whose country we plan on destroying.

Thanks for the ping, friend.

Sorry you feel that way.
Prayer of St. Francis:
Lord, make me and instrument of your peace;
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand,
to be loved, as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are both to eternal life.
~~St. Francis of Assisi

Are you sure this is the radio address text and not the transcript of Wednesday's speech?
Either way, these words are beginning to sound hollow and what's worse, the elaborate preparations for the Iraqi people and the resulting delays may ultimately compromise our troops by sending them to war in the most adverse weather conditions (March sandstorms, April heat) and by making them overly hesitant to use the required level of force for fear of collateral damage.

Whether we commence war in Iraq or not, George Bush is testing the United Nations, NATO alliances, and every nation on earth for their commitment to common sense "goodness."
I sense that America's future allies will share those same values responsible for America's greatness -- Individual Freedom being the greatest value of all.

I don't much care for this plan to feed those whose country we plan on destroying.This looks more like a plan too feed those whose tyrant leader has been removed.

The President --
In order to minimize the suffering of Iraq's people, the United States and our coalition partners stand ready to provide vital help. We will deliver medicine to the sick, and make sure that Iraq's 55,000 food distribution sites, operating with supplies from the oil-for-food program, are stocked and open as soon a possible. We are stockpiling relief supplies, such as blankets and water containers, for one million people. We are moving into place nearly three million emergency rations to feed the hungry. The United States and Great Britain are providing tens of millions of dollars to the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees, and to such groups as the World Food Program and UNICEF, so they will be ready to provide emergency aid to the Iraqi people. Don't you just hate it when we try to minimize the suffering of innocent civilians?

The modus of GWB is to make a major speech, then in following speeches, such as his radio address, to repeat key lines and ideas to help underscore the message.
I like the tack, one he has used since his campaign days--phrases used then that he still brings up like the "soft bigotry of low expectations".
Another oft repeated phrase first uttered in the SOTU speech was "freedom is not America's gift to the world, but God's gift to humanity".
