Ooh, good idea about the name thing! Causes confusion, doesn't it? Just what one might want if he were doing something shady--"he came back the following day and bought it on the spot, for cash."

Correct me if I'm wrong, but CA seems to be a somewhat over-regulated state. Now, even in the states with far less rules and regulations, everyone knows you need fishing or hunting licenses, or you face fines and court appearances. And so they make it easy to get them--you can buy one at the bait store or where you get your shells for hunting, and you can buy it on the day you go to fish or hunt. There's little excuse for not carrying one. So--where's Scott's?

He may have one. If he went fishing anytime in 2002 he could have picked one up that would have been valid on 12/24.
