By not imposing their views on mommy they are imposing their views on baby. For mom, it's a nine month "sentence" (if she views it that way). For baby, it's a death sentence. I just can't see that the two compare.

There is a big difference between a 8.99 month partial birth abortion and a morning after pill or an abortion after a first missed period. I feel differently about the two.

It is understandable to feel differently about a "clump of cells" and a baby with eyes, ears, and a heart.

Unfortunately, by the time a period is missed, a test is positive, arrangements are made, and an abortion is performed, the "clump of cells" has metamorphosed into a very, very recognizable human baby.

Do you feel one is OK and the other not?

You've got my attention. Does the timing of an abortion affect whether abortion is just or unjust?

I feel differently about the two.

So do I but does *that* really mean anything whatsoever?

I feel differently too but I'm not wise enough to determine the exact dividing line. Without that wisdom the only safe place to draw the line is conception.

Feelings aren't decisive. Reason should be.

What does logic tell you? Every baby that is 8.99 months along was an embryo at one point. You were as well and so was I. The difference between murdering a baby at 8.99 months and murdering a baby at .5 months is just material. One is a little more explicit than the other.

That is why there are a few pro-aborts who support a ban on PBA. The graphic nature of the murder tugs at their conscience, and some of them can't stomach it. It is an inconsistent stand (though I am glad to have their votes to ban PBA) because if killing a baby is a "right" than it is right, regardless of how far along the baby is, or even if it is viable. To follow pro-abortion logic, if it is in the woman's body, she has the right to hire someone to kill it.

For what it's worth, I agree with you. I'm sure many won't. Some still adamently oppose nearly all forms of birth control. It wasn't that long ago that condoms were illegal.

Sez you! Can you delineate that difference? Is killing a dwarf any less of a crime than killing a average size person? On something as serious as this, you'd be better off making decisions on sound reasoning rather than on your feelings.

Can't have it both ways. The only difference is the calendar. A woman misses her period due to pregnancy........then, by default, that means that conception has occurred. If left to his/her own devices, that means that baby will develop and will be born. You won't get a sunflower or a chimp; you'll get a baby.

Therefore, if it's wrong at 8.99 months, it's wrong when the woman misses her period due to pregnancy.

"Convenience" or "neatness" (i.e. a smaller mess to clean up) should never, ever enter into this discussion.
