[history]
In perhaps its most forceful effort yet to break the stalemate over the appeals-court nomination of Miguel Estrada, the White House has now invited every member of the Senate who has doubts about Estrada's legal views to submit written questions to Estrada by the close of business Friday. In a letter delivered Thursday to all 100 senators, White House Counsel Alberto Gonzales said Estrada will respond by next Tuesday.

I'm so tired of the ones that are Chicken Littles, but I really am tired of the ones spreading misinformation for their own personal interest. You and me both! That misinformation is really getting to me! Taking the word of members of the press corps as 100% fact drives me nuts! Think it is time the rest of us do what you just did and call them on their misinformation!

I never fail to mention Hitlary when I call Republican senators and advise them to watch their backs with her. As far as I am concerned, Hillary Clinton is our #1 Enemy! And, I don't say this lightly. I have read just about everyword written about her and she is one scarey person. I am convinced she has Dashole by the short hairs. Sorry to be so blunt--not very lady like I know, but at age 63 I find I just don't give a damn anymore!

I was actually glad Frist sent everyone home! I didn't need another very late night!
That was fun though! My favorite part was the look between Graham and Frist! Spoke volumes!

Don't worry. I'm right. I've backed it up with citing the President and Sen. Frist, too. Not, as you seem to imply, with mere wishful thinking.
But do pray!

Phi, now you know Major is a "friend" of mine; remember we met him when we went to see Bush last January in Winston-Salem. :-)
He got some BAD information.
BM, didn't he use to be with the Washington Times?

oh Rush didn't say he was wrong or that fox was wrong.......That's it. Keep digging.
He is wrong and so are you. The only reason you admitted it was because you were exposed on this thread.
BTW, any headway in finding the PROOF for your claim that Frist promised a 24/7 filibuster and no weekends off?

I agree with most of your points except two.
the cornered rats have nothing to lose...They have lots to lose 1. congressional seats from many states 2. their reputations, not all dems are lowlife liberals; some are decent people. They risk losing any and all credibility by joining leahy and kennedy in this crusade over abortion.
Bush will beat the crap out of them over it...This is wishful thinking. Too few people give a damn about judges and don't pay attention. Look at hispanics, if they don't make a big deal over this (and they sure as hell haven't) who will? There just aren't enough freepers to do anything substantial about this outrage.

Did Santorum say yesterday that "we can't keep this up forever"? Garrett didn't make that up out of thin air.Santorum's office to Rush: Quote taken *out of context*.
If I may, that would be obvious to even a casual observer to the Senate statements we've all had an opportunity to see and hear for ourselves, and I knew it immediately.

The problem is not whether Garrett is a conservative or not, the problem was he did not bother to get his facts straight. Anyone watching Wednesday night knew that it wasn't a vote to invoke cloture and it was not a bad night for Republicans because they were all smiling.
Not to mention the fact, we found out the RATs had illegal documents.
Now if those of us on FR that watched the debate until the end figured that out, then Major Garrett should have done his homework. We don't get paid to write articles, he does. This was not a minor mistake -- it was major and left the entire wrong impression with people that did not see the debate.
The editor of the editorial pages of our paper encourage people to let them know if they put out the wrong information because they will correct it. Has Major Garrett put out a correction to his story today? I am asking that seriously because I don't know!

You are so right. It was obvious that those quotes were taken out of context! Some people still don't get it!

Believe it or not I think he was on NPR first then the Wash. Times and CNN.
To: sinkspur
Giving them three-day weekends is just the first step.
LOL...... well you have to remember they got their 40 hr week in early this week with a late nighter or two. Besides, they have a lot of Mardi Gras parades/parties to attend this weekend. Party hardy... for we are going to dig them out of the trenches.... or so it's been rumored.

Are you wrong about Frist saying he'd go 24/7 and weekends?
And, sorry, unfortunately, based on your past posts, I'll have to see it in writing.
Can't find one?
