The President will speak on the subject of Iraq tonight at 7:00 pm EST. I know that MSNBC will be carrying it. If anyone can let us know who else will or will not be carrying the speech, it would be appreciated. Thanks!

If I recall correctly, first word of the Desert Storm air campaign came at 6:41 eastern, during the evening news, and Bush 41 addressed the nation at 7:00 pm.You sure that was at 7P ET, it seemed much longer than that (I thought it was more like 8 ET).
I was living in NW Indiana, and on my way home from work. We stopped into Subway, and as we got back in the car, WLS took the CNN feed (as did damn near everyone else). By time we got home, everyone was on CNN except the kids channels and MTV (who was running John Lennon's "Give Peace a Chance" over and over and over again.
Definitely one of those "Where Were You When" nights...

Moon Phases
A First Quarter Moon rises around noon, Full Moon at sunset, Last Quarter Moon at midnight. New Moon can't be seen.

Guess he's getting the preemptive rebuttal to Saddam's interview with CBS... isn't that tonight My first reaction was that, this is it we're off to Baghdad; but, after having read the article concerning CBS's refusal to give time for a rebuttal of Saddams propaganda video, I'm thinking it could be that as well.
I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I just love your tag lines...
....I am (as well) expecting a Reagan-esque speech, where about halfway into the speech he scoops all the networks and lets it slip that that tomahawk has taken out all of their coms with e-bombs, and the missiles are flying.....maybe one will 'accidentally' hit the french embassy
Does anyone know if the UN inspectors are in-country?

What's the venue? If it's before a group it won't mean much, news-wise. If it's from the Oval Office....here we go!

No I'm not sure it was 7pm, but that is how I recall it. It was definitely 7pm or 8pm, on the nose.

New Moon can't be seen. We're close enough to new moon to get near total darkness now. If that's all we're waiting on, it can happen literally at any time.
I'm still thinking that we've got a little bit of time - not much, but a little bit.

Ok, hoped you wanted to do a live thread. That's your specialty so I thought I'd hand it to you. If you couldn't, I would have done it! I know I have said this before, but I am THRILLED that you are back!!! Missed you a lot and FR just wasn't the same.

From what I heard, it will lay the case out why Saddam must be removed. I hope W has some visual aids.

Today is the 10th Anniversary of Iraq's first attack on the World Trade Center. So a speech on Iraq tonight might be an appropriate occasion to explain what really happened 10 years ago.
I wonder if Laurie Mylroie will be in the audience.

I had just moved into a new house and didn't have the cable installed yet. I was so frustrated w/the cable people - Saddam Hussein could get CNN but I couldn't!
Now I have FR and don't need CNN to get my info.
