My Uncle is in the hospital today after suffering a heart attack yesterday. According to the doctors, he has congestive heart failure, and the build up of fluids around his heart & in his lungs is very severe.

At the same time, he is retaining fluid in other parts of his body, particularly one of his legs which has been pretty much cut off of circulation in one area. He is beginning to develop blisters in the area, and the doctors are becoming concerned about ganggreen (sp?). He has been put on medication (lacix) to reduce the fluid retention, however, at this point it is not working, and the area where the circulation is cut off is getting bigger.

I just spoke with my Aunt, and she said at this time they are waiting for the cardiologist to come in to decide how they are going to handle the fluids around the heart and the fluid retention in his leg. I don't know anything about the things he is experiencing, but the way it sounds, surgery is eminant.

This is in addition to severe problems he has had over the past couple of years with major kidney stones, and back problems he suffered from a work related accident a number of years ago. These problems alone have led the family into a very bad financial position, and this latest attack is making situations even worse.

My Uncle is the pastor at the Freewill Baptist Church in Visalia, CA, and lives in Selma with his wife and 5 kids. Please keep them all in your prayers tonite.
