An Alexandria gun dealer said the man who killed two police officers Thursday "had a death wish" and most likely used "the urban weapon of choice" -- an AK-47, a weapon that is popular among criminals and gang members.

Mark Harlan, the owner of Liberty Firearms Sales, said until two years ago he sold fully and semi automatic weapons. However, he had a change of heart as he grew older and no longer sells such powerful weapons.

"You can shoot a semi-automatic gun nearly as much as a fully automatic gun, it's shooting so fast," Harlan said. "I'm just glad I don't sell assault weapons anymore."

Let us demonize the guns like the good press always does. They never blame the car when a drunk driving death happens. But that must be because the evil big black assault guns must kill more people than cars do in the United States.

Yep, so popular it has never been one of the top ten most used guns in crimes.

NONE of the local Demoncraps took me up on the proposal to outlaw cars because of drunk driving deaths.
Pretty telling, that one...

You ought to add a Barf-Alert to the title of the article. It's got more holes in it than my colander!

This moron is too stupid to have an FFL. He believes that if he kisses the anti-gunners' collecive ass that they will let him stay in business a little longer than the rest. Fool!

"An AK-47 is too easily converted," Swank said.

How does he know, has he done it himself?

I certainly hope that the local shooting community ostracizes this lame excuse of a gun dealer.

There used to be a creature known as a "copy editor", whose function was to check facts and make sure the story generally made sense. Apparently nobody who hadn't been binge-drinking looked at this piece before it went to press; the factual errors are too many to list.

new law, you must make guns which require the trigger be pulled twice.

Focus on the issue, why is this guy going insane? Why are these people going so psycho that they want to end things in such extreme fashion?

Are there any cases where a concealed carrying citizen stopped one of these phychological time bombs? I want to know about having the gun on their person, not the cases where they had to run to the car retrieve the gun and then stop the mad "person".

"DeRamus said it sounded like an AK-47 with the searer gears filed down..."

I think he is getting this confused with the muffler bearing.

With gun dealer friends like these who needs enemies. When one dosen't know the the differants between searer gears and a sear. You have to wonder what kind of dealer he is. This story is so full of BS that it is unbeliveable.

Yeah, and woodchucks hate it as well.
Guess what I'm getting, just so I can show the little rodents something new, once I have the side capital stocked up in my 'toy bin fund'.

I hope everyone starts working to sunset the Assault Weapons Bill as much as the liberal left works to pass it.
