I'm lurking this thread and posting on the smaller Estrada thread started tonight. I get confused (LOL) not knowing exactly what's going on on the Senate floor. Thanks to all of you for the play by plays.

It occurs to me that one of the reasons we didn't want the filibuster before the recess is because the Rats would have used the time to bash Bush about the war. After the speech tonight, I think things in Iraq will happen soon, and a filibuster will not only NOT shape public opinion on the war, but when the bombs start it will disappear off the media radar screen. And the last memory of the Senate democrats that Hispanics will have is their obstruction of a Hispanic judge's appointment.

Can you feature what the American public are going to say to the RATs having a filibuster with the Country getting ready to go to WAR! Like Senator Hatch said, the President has enough on his plate without this!

I hope they keep repeating it over and over -- the RATs are fililbustering an Hispanic nominee for an Appeals Court while this President is preparing to send our men and women of the military to WAR!
