I respect the Southern Baptists as a major US denomination that has not gone unscripturally liberal, but this stance on drinking is pathetically misguided. The bible says not to be drunk with wine. How do you get drunk on grape juice?

Their hair-splitting over alleged "new wine" vs "wine" rang phoney to me even when I first heard it as a child. There weren't different terms for "wine" and "grape juice" in old Hebrew? Yeah right.
