February 25, 2003 -- IN one of the most extraordinary editorials ever published in an American newspaper, The New York Times on Sunday publicly and even proudly abdicated all political, moral, social and journalistic responsibility in the most vital matter now facing the nation.

I found how the World had been misled by prostitute Writers, to ascribe the greatest Exploits in War to Cowards, the wisest Counsel to Fools, Sincerity to Flatterers, Roman Virtue to Betrayers of their Country, Piety to Atheists, Chastity to Sodomites, Truth to Informers.

My favorite Swift quote
Written in 1700's and still valid!

Great quote! I think Podhoretz nails it, too when he says to all the peacemongers:

Speak for yourself, [liberal weenies]. Some of us are not exhausted at all. We could talk about this all day, night and for the rest of the year and for good reason - we have a consistent argument, incontrovertible facts and an urgent sense of the vital importance of acting against Saddam Hussein before he develops nuclear weapons.

You're tired, [peaceniks], because you've trapped yourself in a logical maze and can't find your way out of it.

End of Argument!

I love these attacks on the Times. It should continue on all fronts -- keep them on the defensive the way they always do to our side. The Times is Liberalism's Queen Bee. Destroy it, and the hive is in disarray.

So what on earth will more debate accomplish?

Simple. It will allow The New York Times to rest up a little.

The Times, you see, is tired: "The debate over Iraq has exhausted everybody," it writes.

Bwa ha ha ha ha!
