At the risk of being very un-PC - I suspect ALL Muslims until they declare themselves very pro-America and even then would remain suspect of their motives.

As for the thought by some Republicans that this group should be courted for potential votes -- they'd better also consider the LOSS of votes from patriotic Americans if they appear to blindly favor Muslims -- and there are a lot more of us!!

I'd say you're just being sensible, Elk. There's no way to reconcile the ethic of mutual tolerance with the militant, violent, racist, barbaric prescriptions of the Qur'an -- and, inasmuch as it's the supposed Word of Allah dictated through Mohammed rather than just the divinely inspired writings of men, the Qur'an defines Islam much more strongly than the Bible defines Christianity.

In fact, Islam isn't a religion, but a war ideology with theological decorations. Its principal thrust is temporal -- world power for Muslims and the universal imposition of shari'a law -- rather than spiritual. The entire history of Islam supports this view. Its "theology" is an incoherent, collectivist mess.

There may some day be a new religion derived from Islam that has been shorn of Islam's many faults and excesses, but it's not here yet. Until then: watch your back!

They came for the Muslims and I didn't care because I'm not a Muslim. Then they came for the Jews....
