I couldn't help but post this... especially with all the threads that have one or two Freepers saying "great, now I've got that stupid song in my head!".
The only question I have is: Since I'm being TORTURED , can I take the record companies to court & get a big settlement????
I guess the next time that happens to me, I'll break the cinnamon sticks out and start humming:
"Sooomewherrreee ooover the rainbowwww, wayyyy up higghhh..."!
Cheers!

This one is driving me nuts...I can't remember the words, but it goes something like this:
da-da dum diddy dum dada dum da da.________
I hate when I get the song in my head with the WRONG words.
Like Jimi Hendrix's Purple Haze....
"Scuse me, while I kiss this guy"_____
Also bad is Iron Butterfly's "Ina Gada Da Vida" ...the LONG version______
But worst of all is "El Paso" by Marty Robbins, to include the missing stanza
well why should I be the only one to be driven nuts by this ?
Out in the West Texas town of El Paso
I fell in love with a Mexican girl
Nighttime would find me in Rosa's cantina
Music would play and Feleena would whirl
Blacker than night where the eyes of Feleena
Wicked and evil while casting her spell
My love was deep for this Mexican maiden
I was in love, but in vain I could tell
One night a wild young cowboy came in
Wild as the West Texas wind
Dashing and daring, a drink he was sharing
With wicked Feleena, the girl that I loved
So in anger
I challenged his right for the love of this maiden
Down went his hand for the gun that he wore
My challenge was answered in less than a heartbeat
The handsome young stranger lay dead on the floor
Just for a moment I stood there in silence
Shocked by the foul, evil deed I had done
Many thoughts raced through my mind as I stood there
I had but one chance and that was to run
Out through the back door of Rosa's I ran
Out where the horses were tied
I caught a good one, it looked like it could run
Up on its back and away I did ride
Just as fast as
I could from the West Texas town of El Paso
Out to the badlands of New Mexico
Back in El Paso my life would be worthless
Everything's gone in life, nothing is left
It's been so long since I've seen the young maiden
My love is stronger than my fear of death
I saddle up and away I did go
Riding alone in the dark
Maybe tomorrow a bullet will find me
Tonight nothing's worse than this pain in my heart
And at last here
I am on the hill overlooking El Paso
I can see Rosa's cantina below
My love is strong and it pushes me onward
Down off the hill to Feleena I go
Off to my right I see five mounted cowboys
Off to my left are a dozen and more
Shouting and shooting I can't let them catch me
I have to make it to Rosa's back door
Something is dreadfully wrong for I feel
A deep burning pain in my side
Though I am trying to stay in the saddle
I'm getting weary, unable to ride
But my love for
Feleena is strong, and I rise where I've fallen
Though I am weary I can't stop to rest
I see the white puff of smoke from the rifle
I feel the bullet go deep in my chest
From out of nowhere Feleena has found me
Kissing my cheek as she kneels by my side
Cradled by two loving arms that I'll die for
One little kiss and Feleena, goodbye
you're welcome. :)

Song Stuck in Your Head? You're Not Alone No, but I keep having this scary dream that Bill Clinton was the president for eight years, and that his wife became the junior senator from New York.

I was riding to work in Atlanta one morning and flipping between 96Rock and WGST News/Radio and on 96Rock was the Red Hot Chile Peppers singing "Giveitaway, Giveitaway, Giveitaway, GiveitawayNow, Giveitaway, Giveitaway, Giveitaway, GiveitawayNow, etc.". I could not shake that song all day. After that I now can't stand to hear the tune anymore.

Well, ever since I saw
Confessions of a Dangerous Mind a few weeks back, I can't seem to get
Palisades Park out of my head, although I do have the tendency to get the lyrics wrond every once in a while:
We Made love at a Hot Dog Stand...etc., etc. But hey, you'll never know how good a kiss could feel when you're stuck at the top of a ferris wheel, where I fell in love, down at Palisades Park.

Often what gets sticky is not just a tune, but also lyrics, a trend he calls "stupid lyrics syndrome." I was drunk the day my Momma got out of prison
And I went to pick her up in the rain.
But before I could get to the station in my pickup truck
My Momma, she got run over by a da?ned old train.

On Friday I was at a pep rally at my daughters school because she was receiving an award.
For the whole hour and a half they had the same song on repeat, they much have played it 30 times.
The song that goes "Sorry i'm not at home right now, walking in a spider web, leave a message and I'll call you back"
Now I actually kind of like No Doubt, but not that particular song and not 30 times in a row at 170dB
Now for the last four days I have had "Sorry i'm not at home right now, walking in a spider web, leave a message and I'll call you back" banging in my head.
The last song I got caught in my head was around Christmas, I was in a record store picking up a DVD and this awful song was being played that just went "Super sex world going up and down" over and over again. I don't even know who sings it but that song was stuck in my head well into January
If your blue and you don't know where to go to
why don't you go where fashion sits
Puttin on the ritz.

I found when I song stuck in my head. All I need to do Is grab my Guitar and play the song. Works every time.
Works for my kids too. When I told them how to get the song unstuck from there head. " You need to play it". They thought it was silly. But they found out it works.

The theme to "While You Were Out" on TLC sticks in my head: "Na, na, na, na, na, bum, bum, bum..."

A horse is a horse of course of course
And no one can talk to a horse of course
That is of course unless the horse
Is the famous Mr. Ed
Go right to the source and ask the horse
He'll give you the answer that you'll endorse
He's always on a steady course
Talk to Mr. Ed
People yakety-yak a streak and waste your time of day
But Mr. Ed will never talk
Unless he has something to say
A horse is a horse of course of course
And no one can talk to a horse of course
That is of course unless the horse
Is the famous Mr. Ed
