Afghanistan: Blast Reportedly Kills Special Forces Group - Feb 24, 2003

Unconfirmed reports from Afghanistan on Feb. 24 say that a number of U.S. Special Forces "officials" were killed after an explosion occurred under their vehicle. The group was traveling in the provice of Zarmat. New sources have conflicting information about the exact number of fatalities. Initial reports were that 10 Americans were in the double-cab vehicle and that all were killed. Reports from the Daily Islam and the Pakistan-based Daily Ausaf, which have been translated and posted by jihadunspun.com, did not say whether the vehicle was destroyed by an explosive device placed under the vehicle or if the it struck a landmine.
