The New Underground: How Conservatives Conquered the Internet (book)
RichardPoe.com ^ | February 21, 2003 | Richard Poe

Posted on 02/24/2003 2:37:50 PM PST by Richard Poe

You've visited their Web sites -- DrudgeReport.com; NewsMax.com; WorldNetDaily.com; FreeRepublic.com; FrontPageMagazine.com and many more. These are the Web sites of the New Underground. And this is the tale of the cyberjournalists who built them -- the brave men and women who bring you the news Big Media doesn't want you to know.

Learn how these modern-day Tom Paines and Ben Franklins mastered a new technology, the Internet; how they built a New Media from the ground floor; defied an outlaw White House; endured government repression; and exposed unspeakable treason at the pinnacle of power -- treason that led directly to the slaughter of 9-11.

Learn how these cyber-patriots continue defining the cutting edge of New Media in the age of broadband and the blogosphere.

Here is the inside story of the Web sites and cyberjournalists who helped change history, a tale of courage, sacrifice, ingenuity and patriotism -- one of the greatest untold stories in the annals of journalism.

Pre-sales of The New Underground: How Conservatives Conquered the Internet by Richard Poe are now available from Amazon.com.

Would "Next generation" consider communicating in English rather than ebonics?

today's conservatives are the dissidents.
I like M. Stanton Evans' treatment--different countries have different values, and the theme of conservatism in one country is not the same as the theme of conservatism in another. It is in America in particular that conservatism's theme is freedom. See the book,

The Theme Is Freedom
Religion, Politics, and the American Tradition.

Note that freedom makes change possible, indeed inevitable--so that American Conservatives are the ones most in favor of change in the way of the people according to their voluntary choice. "Liberals," so called, want change in the rules, change directed by government and imposed on we-the-people. Change to, ironically, a static vision of "perfection".

How exciting! A great idea whose time has come!

Luis, which one of your many wonderful stories?
Was it the one about 'Freedom Road' by any chance?

No, it's actually MY story, and what impact the internet had on my political development.

Not quite as exciting as all that.

Actually, there are quite a few Freepers in the book. You and Gene McDonald are featured quite prominently, and of course Jim Robinson most prominently of all.

In addition, there are many quotations of Freeper comments throughout the book, which are cited by name, so many Freepers will recognize their handles.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to imply that the book is about me, but rather that you did not publish one of my stories.

How about some radio FR promotion time?
