'Inspectors' denied US access February 24, 2003
US military officials refused a 13-member international delegation entry to an army base after the group asked to carry out an inspection for illegal arms at the site.
MPs, scientists, academics, religious and union leaders from Canada, the United States, Britain, Italy and Denmark were denied access to the US Army site at Edgewood Chemical Biological Center in Maryland, after army officials said they lacked the proper accreditation.
The team had made a formal request to the US Defence Department in the past week for authorisation to enter the site, Canadian activists Rooting out Evil said .
The group charges that biological and chemical weapons, including ricin and anthrax are developed and stored at Edgewood in breach of international chemical and biological conventions.
After being asked by military officials to leave the site, a British parliamentarian and leader of Labour Against the War, Alan Simpson, said: "Had this inspection taken place in Iraq, and had we been denied access to such a site, President (George W) Bush would have declared material breach of Resolution 1441 and authorised war on Iraq."
The group was met by base security, said Army spokeswoman Major Amy Hannah.
"We received a letter from the group," she said. "We heard their concerns."
The letter, addressed to Secretary of Defence Doland Rumsfeld, "will be forwarded to the higher headquarters," she said. "It was all very peaceful. It was very cordial".
The US Army is subject to "a variety of treaties, and we do receive inspections by credentialed inspectors", she said.

They should take their report of being turned away by the U.S. to the UN General Assembly. That would give us at least twelve years before we would have to face any resolution they passed.

They should have given them the same reception I would have gotten when traveling TDY in the Air Force, and if my travel orders did not EXACTLY match my Visit Request to a sensitive installation.
Face down in the mud and with an M-16 to the head.

Shoot them with rubber bullets, then those bean bag guns, then pepper spray them, then foam them, then hog tie them and lock them in the brigg.

We should turn this around on the Frogs and demand access to THEIR military sites . . . Let's show 'em who is relevant and who is irrelevant when it comes to demanding access.

Afterall, we're sure the French have no chemical and biological conventions.

Actually, an UNinteresting and impotent attempt to establish moral equivalency. Do these 60s rejects think we will use WMD on Canada and Mexico? Perhaps they think we invaded a sovereign country and had to be repelled and overwhelmingly defeated by a foreign power. Maybe they have inside information that the US government once secretly gassed dissident Norwegian-Americans in Minnesota.
Mental midgets masquerading as moral men.

"Had this inspection taken place in Iraq, and had we been denied access to such a site, President (George W) Bush would have declared material breach of Resolution 1441 and authorised war on Iraq." A minor point, I know, but 1441 covers Iraq, not the U.S. Is the Left brain damaged!?

I don't recall us losing a war and agreeing to an inspection regime as part of the cease fire.
And by the way, we are not going to war with Iraq.
We are still at war with Iraq from the last time.
We have simply been in a period of cease fire while inspectors supposedly disarmed them preparatory to a peace.

Is the Left brain damaged!? Do not underestimate the leaders of the left. They are not the smartest but they are dedicated and work their propaganda to the max. How many newspapers are reporting that these "peace" activists are really communists? How many newspapers are reporting that those that took out the protest permits are communists?
